INTRODUCTION
The report aims to analyse the key work skills while conducting a research project. Research
refers to collect the information and new knowledge in order to prepare methodologies and
enhance own understanding (Eatough and Smith, 2021). Research involves synthesizing and
analysing the information already presented at many sources and use it in creative ways.
Reflective report is the one which helps in analysing personal strength, weakness, knowledge
and capabilities during conducting research. This report is going to use the Gibbs reflective
model to provide overall description about the feeling, thoughts and ideas while preparing a
research project.

Reflective model
This model is the most known and popular for giving reflection on own practice. It was first
developed by 1988 and gain much importance in the field of academic and professional
development. It will help in analysing what has happened and how it has gone. There are mainly
6 stages which are described below:

to collect the relevant information and present it in my own words. Therefore, I first go through
with my notes and lectures to create aims and objective by working on both of its scope. At this
stage, I came to know about the whole research chapters which are important to produce the
project effectively (Reeves, 2020). I did not understand about the different tools and techniques

attending university classes to manage my workplace. I was not getting enough time to work on
the research project due to which I started worried about it.
Feelings: at this stage, there is evaluation of the feeling came across in the mind while
indulging in an experience. It describes how a person felt and what was its outcome. For that
instance, while doling my research project, I got so much tensed as I was not preparing for it due
to irregularity in my studies and I was not able to manage my routine. This shows that, I was
feeling stressed and left out as I could not get support from my peers as it was an individual
assessment. So, I started giving time for developing my research skills through learning its
models and methods. Once I managed my routine and gave time to the research process, I started
feeling confident that I can do it (Leclerc and Drapeau, 2018). I started gaining interest in the
topic due to which I was interestingly put my efforts in learning good writing and analysing
skills by going through across many internet sources.
Evaluation: This stage showcases the evaluation of overall experiences in both positive and
negative manner. As I started giving time to learn research methods, approaches, concepts and
strategies, it becomes easy for me to go through with my project and fulfil aims and objectives. It
has evaluated that, I get to learn about many skills like reading, writing, analysing and
synthesizing information. Along with this, I fail to respond to effective communication skills. I
become good at writing by presenting my ideas and thoughts but I am not able to speak verbally
during the classroom session and presentations. I have also evaluated that, these skills are vital
for me to achieve my career goals. So, I was keen to gain deep understanding about research,
writing and time management skills.
Analysis: this stage reflects the overall analysis of the experiences which will showcase own
strength and weak areas. By working with the research work, I learned to respond to my thoughts
and creative ideas. I could showcase them in written ways and collect huge data from relevant
sources to make a meaningful conclusion. I think that, I lack in working on the research project
at initial time due to lack of confident and time management skills. Due to which, I was not able
to give time to learn and prepare projects effectively. I have given a lot of efforts to search from
articles, books, journals and literatures to gain information which has helped to write my own
content.
Conclusion: This stage shows that, I have gained much experience in reading, writing,
researching and presentations skills through my project. Through this, I have learned necessary

Apart from this, I need to learn problem solving skills, technical knowledge and verbal
communication to enhance the effectiveness of my ideas (Greenberger, 2020). By developing
these skills, it will be easy for me to concentrate on further research projects.
Action plan: By analysing and concluding all the experience, I have gone through with so
many practices which revealed that I need to work on my communication and problem solving
skills (Leering 2019). I will take part in debates and presentation to speak confidently and
fluently by continuous practicing. Also, I will engage in more of research work to improve my
thinking and decision making skills.
