Research Methods Report

This report details the author's experience and learning gained from conducting a research study. The author discusses their acquisition of knowledge in various aspects of research methodology, including research design, philosophy (positivism and interpretivism), data collection, and ethical procedures. RESEARCH
METHODS

The present study being carried out has supported me to gain knowledge in different areas.
Further, I acquired knowledge in relation with the research methods and processes used such as
design, philosophy, sources of data collection etc. Moreover, before undertaking this I was only
having theoretical knowledge but by applying the information present I was able to explore new
things. For secondary analysis literature review was considered and I accessed various books,
journals and articles for the same. So, this strengthened my knowledge base. Apart from this I
formulated research questions on the basis of objectives framed for study which assisted in knowing
the ways through which questions can be framed easily.
Moreover, I obtained in-depth knowledge linked with research philosophies, strategies and
methods. It was possible for me to know about different philosophies such as interpretivism and
positivism. On the other hand, in every study it is necessary to follow ethical procedures and in
present research ethics was mainly focused so that reliability of research can be focused. Further,
different research skills were used in the research such as problem solving, critical thinking etc
through which it was possible to gain expected findings. In short, the overall learning took place
provided remarkable experience and enhanced my confidence level. Apart from this, my plan is to
apply the knowledge obtained and skills in different studies in near future.
