INTRODUCTION
Numeracy and ICT skills helps a student to conduct deep research and use various tools
in their mathematics study (Kviz, 2019). Numeracy refers to the ability to understand, recognise
as well as apply maths theories, formulas and concepts in learning process or all areas of life.
This skills involve counting, understanding numbers, measuring, counting, sorting, adding,
estimating and subtracting numbers etc.
This essay covers the nature of research and principles for conducting good research as
well as Select and use appropriate ICT when carrying out research. Further, it highlights Identify
and apply relevant numerical techniques for analysing data addition to Demonstrate an
understanding of how to interpret and present the results of research.
MAIN BODY
The nature of good research includes many aspects such as it is verifiable investigation to
test theory, systematic as well as gain a proper understanding of some phenomenon. Research
refers to the basis of knowledge for purpose of understanding as well as it is an essential sources
for providing norms and guidelines for solving business issues, social challenges and
governmental problems (Lacity, Willcocks and Gozman, 2021). In order to conduct good
research and collect relevant data, investigator must choose reliable sources which will be helpful
for them to complete their research task effectively as well as it enable them to make most
innovative plan on the basis of their research. It undertakes the deep investigation and study of
any subjects as well as issues that assists to improve the current knowledge addition to solve
serious problem of a company.
The nature of good research includes many features such as objective, generalisability,
free from personal biases, systematic, reproducible, directed towards the solution of a issue,
logical as well as replicable. The content of research must have all these features as well as it is
made in systematic manner, the content must be logical, reproducible and provide profitable
solution for problems. If the research is conducted for the people as a whole as it is applied to
whole population in order to solve social or general issue. The research must be free form
personal biases of researcher as well as should be objective rather than subjective. So the
methodology must be used in a manner so the investigator can not use their perceptual experience
as well as modify the data and content for manipulating the result (Mertens, 2018). The good

research must follow all steps as each steps is connected to other so the researcher have to follow
each steps in systematic manner in order to bring uniformity and accuracy in report or research
work. The main purpose of research is identify the area of issues as well as investigates each
aspects of issues. So the researcher must conduct it properly and collect relevant data in order to
find out most effective solution for the social, governmental and business issues (Obeidat and
Al-Delaimy, 2020). Also researcher must collect the data form many sources as well as
interprets the data in order to make comparison among all information to make good report
which proves their results is logical. Deductive and inductive studies are the good example of
logical report.
There are many principles of conducting good research such as scientific validity,
favourable risk benefits ratio, fair subject selection, independent review, social or clinical value,
and respect for enrolled and potential participants as well as informed contest. It also includes
many other things such research must be cost effective, objectivity, clarity, simplicity,
selectiveness and comprehensiveness. As researcher must conduct their investigation by consider
all these principles to make their research valuable for organisation. As they make report as per
their research which must be simple, accurate and reliable in order to prove as useful to solve
many problems (Plamondon and Neufeld, 2022). It is important for researcher to use relevant
sources and chose most effective one in order to save time, cost and complete their report early
to working. Also they have made sure that they did not miss any important topic, point and
aspects which make research more effective. They have to make sure they did not use half or
false information in their research which leads to waste their time or cost as well as they cannot
achieve the goal for which they conducted research on time.
The other principles of good research is use of scientific process, set objectives, planning,
continuity, integrity, reliability, adequacy of data, structure, logic, empiricism, reliability,
economic and time frame. An investigator must set objectives for their research and then use
proper scientific method to conduct effective planning in order to find out most suitable sources
for their research. Further, they continue their research till they find the valuable data to solve
the issues then them make effective report by evaluating the information in all vast data as well
as make most reliable report which is useful to achieve goals easily (Pritchard, 2021). Then they
must divide the data into various subjects and arrange them in proper structure in a logical form
so other people can understand the data easily and use it for their working. Research must also be

replicable or reproducible so people use it as a base and take better decisions in order to get
good results.
CONCLUSION
As per above presented information, it has been concluded that research must content all
the reliable data, must be based on various information as it applied same on every one. It helps
research to get proper direction how to conduct good research in order to use for better results.
There are also many principles which outlines the most effective manner to conduct good
research and help people to make accurate, reliable report by reducing cost and time. So every
researcher must follow all the principles of good research to complete their research work
efficiently on time.
