Research is a part of the process of writing work which includes stating about background research

the study. Under this, it becomes important for the researchers to make sure that the sources of information
should be relevant to the topic and effectively supporting arguments. On the other hand, when the scholars
use the findings and other sources information in their studies then there is a need to cite and reference them
accurately. Along with this, it becomes require to carefully follow the guidance related to citations and
referencing styles (RESEARCH AND REFERENCING, 2016). The present essay is based on research and
referencing where to understand the significance of both of them, a topic Dementia is taking into the
consideration. To gather the information on this subject, two main secondary sources will select:
Newspapers and Professional Journals along with text books and internet.
Methods of researching information
Text book: Dementia has created cognitive, language and behavioural barriers for the person. Due to
this, the issues related to memory lapse, unable to learn and remember the things, reading, spoken and
writing language problems etc has started to raise in human that can be considered as symptoms of
dementia. Along with this, from the textbook information, the ways related to assess the body structure and
its functioning, activities and participation of a person during dementia determine (Bourgeois and Hickey,
2011). Further, it shows how to manage and treat this disease in an effective manner. Evaluation of text book
defines that some of the information has not clearly stated and it has not able to clear the doubt of the
readers.
Internet: On the other hand, from the internet, several information have found on dementia such as
different reasons of occurrence of dementia in the people in particular age, its various types, symptoms of
disease, its causes, diagnosis of dementia, its treatment and care, risk and prevention etc. From the
evaluation, it has determined that most of the internet sources have stated the same information. This has
created the less confusion for the readers to understand the following health care topic (What Is Dementia?,
2016).
Newspaper: While from the newspaper articles, much new information has explored which has not
delivered by text book and internet. These are such as costs for dementia care for exceeding other diseases,
development of this disease faster in women than in men etc. So, from the evaluation it has identified that
newspaper has provided much wider content on a particular topic rather than text book and internet
(KOLATA, 2015).
Professional journal: Professional journal has assisted in gain important information on a particular
