For the research essay, the topic of "Sexual Assault" has been chosen. The term sexual assault
means when a person touches another person intends to exploit the person sexually without
the person's consent and forces the other person to involve in the sexual act without their
consent or free will. For this research paper, three articles have been selected.
Light, R., 2018. Sexual Assault in a College Environment: Examining the Relationship
between Bystander Intervention, Consent, and Rape Myths.
The study has highlighted the difference in the relationship between the myths regarding
rape, behaviors, and attitudes regarding consensual sex and the willingness to involve in
sexual behavior. The research paper has used reliable and valid scales to measure the
behavior of the students in case of their consent and their understanding regarding what
amounts to consent and free will. The main objective of this research paper was to
differentiate as well as evaluate the student’s understanding regarding the willingness to
intervene and their belief regarding the sexual acts. The study has also recommended the
future course of action in this particular area. The research study involves 371 respondents.

around. The study is based on colleges and academic centers all around the United States.
This study has the objective to systematically review the growth of sexual assault and sex-
related crimes within colleges and universities all across the United States. The study has also
mentioned various forms of sexual victimization in college campuses which includes forced
rape, unwanted or sexual contract without the will or consent and sexual coercion. From this
study, it has been highlighted that the most prevalent type of sexual assault or sex-related
crime that is prevalent within the colleges is sexual contact without consent as well as forced
rape.
