Research Skills: Draft Tasks, Feedback Analysis, and Mini Research

This project provides evidence of research skills development through four draft tasks, focusing on research introduction, data collection, data analysis, and information security. It addresses responding to feedback, emphasizing the importance of formative and summative feedback for improvement. A mini research proposal is presented, investigating the impact of big data and information technology on UK society, utilizing secondary data sources. The proposal outlines the problem background, research aim, proposed methodology (secondary data research with a post-positivism approach), and limitations. The reference list includes relevant academic sources.

EVIDENCE OF THE DRAFT TASKS
In the module there were four different tasks which were performed and the aim of the
module and the tasks was to ensure better research practice and improvement in the skills of
individuals which are used within the research. There are number of actions which are being addressed
within the research and this is identified as –

Task - 1 Research Introduction was framed.
The types of data were analysed and noted.
Task - 2 Collection of the data and sources were evaluated.
Different academic sources were analysed and used.
Task - 3 Data analysis and interpretation was done.
Rank was allocated for the different aspects of sources collected.
Task - 4 Data and information security system was provided with all the details gathered.

RESPONDING TO FEEDBACK
Responding to feedback is an appropriate manner in which there are aspects
which are related to how effectively the corrections are being done. There are
improvements and corrections made by analysing the feedback and this helps in
providing the concerns which are related to how the improvements which are made
while conducting the research. It is an essential process as there are two types of
feedbacks which are – formative and summative. And these helps in offering the scope
of improvement.

MINI RESEARCH PROPOSAL
 Topic of the research - To identify the impact of big data and information
technology in the UK society. The secondary data sources will be used for the
research to identify the aspects which are related and within the research at large
scale.
 Summary of the problem identified – With the aspect of time, there is high importance of
the big data and technology which is increasing within the market. This is helping to create
value for the research which is being determined appropriately. The society of United
Kingdom is being impacted from the big data and information technology. The research
would be disclosing the impacts of the technology and big data on the society at large
scale.

BACKGROUND OF THE PROBLEM
Background of the problem - The problem which has been identified is that there is range of
information and data which has been gathered and analysed at large scale. The process of literature
review was being carried out which helped in evaluating the aspects of performing the research
effectively. From the literature review, it would be fair to conclude that impact of big data analysis and
information technology has been carried out in effective manner.

AIM OF THE RESEARCH
To identify the impact of big data and information technology in the UK society. Research
will be carried out in respect to the aim which has been framed.

PROPOSED METHODOLOGY
 Research Type – The research will be secondary data based research.
 Research Approach – Post – positivism approach will be used within the research.
 Data Collection – Secondary data collection will be used within the research.
 Limitation – Only secondary data is used which becomes the big problem and limitation for the
research.
