INTRODUCTION
Nurses need to do research as it assists them to enhance their skills and knowledge in
order to serve better patient care. Information literacy skills makes nurses utilize their knowledge
and skills more effectively and help them in patient care management. Evidence based practices
are very crucial for nurses as it help them as they can gather the evidences and utilize them in
their further assessment. In the given assessment, there is a brief discussion how nurse utilizes
their acquired knowledge and skills in their further practices. The report will provide a general
information about how nurses can improve their knowledge and skills in order to provide quality
health services.
MAIN BODY
To become a nurse it very crucial to get a bachelor degree in nursing and getting the
degree makes nurses acquire skills and knowledge and help them to deliver safe patient care.
Nurses need to improve their skills and it take effort and practice. Nurses need to communicate
effectively to patients and their family members to give quality health services to patients. They
need to be in tune according to patient's need which assist them to counsel their patients. Lack of
arrogance is very crucial as nurses also deal with patients with horrific aggression. There are
certain strategies, nurses can implement in order to increase their nursing profession such as
being a good listener, respecting patient's privacy, always having good intentions and being
polite. Nursing strengths include compassion for patients, ability to solve the issues, flexibility,
leadership abilities, endurance and attention to detail. Honesty is very important n order to build
trusting relationship with patients. Nurses acquire knowledge based strengths from their
academic experiences, personal life and work (Hanshaw and Dickerson, 2020). Nurses may
improve their acquired skills by exploring advanced nursing education, learning how to
communicate effectively, making a commitment to knowledge and service and joining a
professional nursing organisation.
Evidence based practices in nursing is an combination of research attestation, patient's
preferences and clinical expertise. Evidence based practices assists nurses to form clinical
questions to identify the problem, analyse the evidence, assess the result and apply the evidence
to clinical practices. Evidence based practices assist nurses to make well-founded decisions in
patient care management. It enables nurses to monitor and evaluate the benefits and risk of

ongoing treatments and tests. It makes nurses consider their patient while making care plans for
them. Evidence based practices makes sure that nurses are delivering cost-effective and clinical
care (Koota and et. al., 2020). It make nurses to maintain high standards that enhances the
patient's experiences. Theses evidences based practices are used by nurses to achieve best patient
outcome. Theses practices makes nurses responsible, patient-centred, compassionate and honest
(Labrague and et. al., 2020). This make nurses update and improve their clinical practices in
order to enhance their skills. It has been analysed that nurses have positive attitude towards the
evidence based practices. With the help of evidence based practices nurses evaluate and
implement clinically relevant, current and scientifically proven research practices. Nurses can
make their own review that what has worked or not on her clinical practices. It enables nurses to
prioritize their every single patient to meet their clinical needs. Nurses cam formulate clinical
questions about the intervention, clinical issues and patient outcomes. They can also acquire
evidence so they can answer these questions. They evaluate either the evidence is valuable or
high quality or need any modification in order to improve patient outcome. At the end they
evaluate the outcome after the application of evidence to the patient's condition (Ost and et. al.,
2020).

Evidence based nursing practices depends on research and includes the clinical
requirements of every individual patient in order to deliver quality health services. It makes
nurses emphasize on patient clinical requirements to improve patient outcome and enhances
patient clinical experiences. It makes nurses concentrate on activities which are helpful to
improve the outcome and prevent them grabbing activities which are totally baseless and having
no benefits. Nurses can plan better patient care decisions, so they can treat them better. Solving
problems quickly saves nurses time and make them utilize their time wisely (Cho, Kim and Park,
2022).
For example, nurses may draw on evidence that how they can supply oxygen
appropriately to patients suffering with coronary obstructive disease. These practices make
nurses identify appropriate intravenous catheter size. Nurses would be able to identify the family

involvement results to deliver effective and efficient care to patients. By reflecting on current
practices, they can make clinical protocols to ensure patient safety. It makes nurses deliver high
quality and safe care to patients and also improves patients outcomes. EBP practices make
nurses use data-backed solutions in a number of nursing practices. EBP mainly improve quality
of care, maintains the healthcare standards, enhance the appropriateness of healthcare by making
the evidence and apply the evidences in patient's current health condition in order to improve the
patient outcome. Nurses may gather evidences for their future counselling or it may help them to
design patient care management. Nurses analyses the gathered evidences to evaluate their
effectiveness, so they can use it for their further counselling. Lack of evidences and knowledge
may create clinical error and results to poor patient outcome (Barnes‐Daly and et. al., 2018). This
is why it very important to gather evidences to improve skills and knowledge for the
development of nursing strategies.
CONCLUSION
From the above assessment, it has been concluded that evidence based practice is a
fundamental aspects of all the roles and responsibilities of a nurse. This assist them to learn and
achieve the evidence in order to improve their skills and knowledge. These practices support
nursers learning and make them deliver quality health services. Evidence based practices are
problem solving clinical approach which make nurse gather knowledge and design better patient
care management plan.
