This business research proposal, conducted by a group of students, investigates the factors affecting smoking habits among college students in Kuwait. The study examines psychological, societal, family, and demographic factors, aiming to raise awareness and provide recommendations to reduce smoking among students. The research includes a literature review, hypothesis development, research design, and data collection methods. The proposal outlines the identification of four key factors: psychological factors (stress, depression), societal factors (peer pressure), family factors (dysfunctional family, smoking habits), and demographic factors. The research employs a quantitative approach, using a survey questionnaire to gather data from 50 respondents. The study's objectives are to examine the factors motivating smoking and to recommend strategies for awareness and prevention. The proposal includes detailed sections on research design, data analysis, ethical considerations, and implications of the study. The research highlights the importance of addressing psychological and family influences to combat smoking among college students. The findings showed that out of the four hypothesis in the research only two of them has been proved as the relationship was significant. The remaining two hypothesis could not be proved with the given data set. The result showed that college students are influenced by psychological and family factors and colleges should make sure that proper steps should be taken to stop this bad habit and addiction of smoking.
