For an individual, social media is useful in
keeping touch with lot of friends and for this,
some people tends to use several social media
applications for developing their network career
opportunities, find people across the globe with
suitable interest and also tends to share their
feelings and thoughts. Social media is computer
based technology that leads to develop virtual
networks and suitable communities.

Background
Social media in higher education tends to become important for most of institutions because 98%
of schools tends to use social media across campus. For the effective higher education, social
media platforms and teams are useful to manage prominent task that leads to support wide area
and international community across several channels. Hence, social media continues to transform
pedagogy that can be used to support effective learning and teaching activities which was
traditionally confined to classrooms.

Research Aim
The main aim of this research is “to
identify the use of social media platforms
by the higher education students”.

Teachers can use different social media platform to provide knowledge to the students.
Facebook is also used for higher education which helps in the development of the student also
encourage them to learn more. Facebook have certain guidelines which can be used by the
teachers so that social media can be a effective way to provide the knowledge to the students.
Teachers can use different social media platform to teach their students because social media
is something students are familiar with.

To identify benefits and limitations of social media platforms in the life of higher education

Benefits:
Social media platform have several application through which students and teachers can
interact easily and can develop a healthy learning environment. Students can save the
content and revise it anytime whenever is required without asking from anyone which is
the best advantage for the students.
Drawbacks:
Privacy of the content not guaranteed it can also be misused by the other people. students and
teachers both should have proper knowledge about usage of the social sites.

To recommend methods to overcome from the limitations of social media platforms
The suitable way is to develop an effective culture and awareness for having prominent
support which is quite vital for the school discussion by undertaking the challenges. For this,
social media awareness can be developed and created on the basis of cyberbullying and other
realities of social media by using the vital information. In regard of this, various social media
applications such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and so on develop make advertisement
and promote the campaign with pop-up ads by considering the concern of effective use of
technology and prominent tools.

Evaluation
In this, the secondary sources are useful
regarding the effective analysis of
research objectives. Moreover, by
depending on the effective accuracy
considering the reliable sources are
higher for the effective comparison to
the primary sources. The research also
need distinct responses from the broad
range of sources such as books, journals,
articles and so on.

Conclusion
By examining the above discussion, it is analysed that social media plays an important role in
the overall development and success of higher education students. For this, they also tends to
use several applications that put both positive and negative impact on the life of individuals.
Hence, to overcome from all of these challenges, suitable ways and recommendations are also
