HOSPITALITY SECTOR.
1. INTRODUCTION.
Research Background(Introduction to the research area with some background information). Include the
following:
The research area is the Hospitality Sector which has a broad range of services that is a hotel,

of the famous hotels and award-winning hotel chains too.
Aims & Objectives

objectives).

process during the period of a pandemic?
iii. What are the significant measures adopted by Premier Inn to manage the employees effectively
at the workplace during COVID-19?
Research Hypotheses: These may be only required if you are conducting a quantitative research

consequences of the Pandemic on the operations of the hospitality industry mainly in talent
management.
2. LITERATURE REVIEW:
The literature should have an introduction, main body that is organised in relevant themes; and a
conclusion
A literature review is defined as in-depth knowledge of the subject that presents the body of data that
establishes the work's validity. Furthermore, it gives a theoretical framework as well as research
methods. These are a variety of sources, such as books and articles, that can be used to investigate and
obtain knowledge on the issue.
According to David Yechiam Aharon and et. al(2021), Covid-19 has led created an adverse impact on
the hospitality sector that has resulted in talent management issues. For example pay reductions,
canceled bonuses, higher stress levels, and many others. As the crisis was one of the most impactful
events in history and also it reduced the performance of the hotels and their stability in the market
(COVID-19, government measures, and hospitality industry performance).
As per Herman Aguinis and Jing Burgi-Tian(2021), Covid-19 is responsible for creating a major
impact on the hospitality business as most of the employees lost their jobs due to it. The hotels were to
shut down and pushed several to shut down permanently. In which the human resource was got
affected as employees are the most valuable asset for the company. It was also seen that due to the
current climate of uncertainty the businesses were likely to postpone investment, purchases, employee
recruiting, and operations (Talent management challenges during COVID-19 and beyond: Performance
management to the rescue)
METHODOLOGY
Use Saunders’s research onion framework to develop an effective academic research methodology
This part of the research project contains appropriate tools for identifying information about a topic,
and it is an important part of the project because it helps the researcher in creating the data analysis.
This project is composed of-
Research philosophy- It can be defined as a set of views about how data should be gathered and
interpreted. Positivism and interpretivism are different philosophical methods to research. In this
research project, positivism will be considered since it helps in the acquisition of information that is
free of personal opinions, which helps to reduce research challenges. This will help the researchers in
working autonomously to collect and evaluate the data.
Research approach-The research approach is defined as a set of strategies that are implemented to
make the data collection process simpler. Inductive and deductive research approaches are two types
of research methods. The deductive approach will be used for this research because it simplifies the
argument and consumes less time.
Research choice-It explains the basis of the conducted study, which is divided into qualitative and
quantitative categories. Quantitative research is being examined for the topic. The main goal of this
selection is to support the focus of information facts that are useful for effective analysis.
Research strategy-For the goal of the research strategy is divided into various elements such as case
studies and surveys. Surveys will be selected based on the project's requirements. As data is acquired

through questionnaires, surveys aid in the better presentation of research.
Research design- It is described as the framework and it is classified into two types: descriptive and
exploratory. According to the project, descriptive design is preferred because it helps in proper data
analysis.
Sampling- is defined as the process of selecting samples from a large population using statistical and
non-probabilistic techniques. Probability sampling will be used in this research as it helps the search
by picking a particular number of people. The survey's participants are chosen among 20 employees.
Time horizon- It is defined as the extension of time and time frame in which research is completed,
and it is divided into two types: cross-sectional and longitudinal studies. According to the research
project, the cross-sectional time horizon was chosen since it helps to understand the changes and
evolution that occur over time by collecting data.
Data collection-It is divided into two parts: primary research and secondary research. Primary
research is preferred for the study project as it provides more reliability and accuracy because data is
collected from various sources
Instruments: The term refers to the many techniques for doing research, which is separated into
interviews and surveys. According to this study, questionnaires will be favored so they will allow
researchers to analyze other people's viewpoints.
Analysis: This term applies to the techniques that are used to illustrate the methods of research. It's
classified into two parts: thematic analysis and frequency distribution. Frequency distribution is being
explored for this project because it aids in the depiction of data via graphical representations.
