3. Research Area
Human Robot Interaction (HRI) is a particular area of study, which is devoted for
understanding, designing and evaluation of the different components of a robotic system to
establish communication between robots and humans (Sheridan 2016.). HRI is therefore
described as a multidisciplinary field that contributes for human and computer interaction with
the assistance of AI and natural language understanding. The aim of the study is to investigate
the field HRI.
4. Relation to Computer Science in General
HRI and human-computer interaction is interrelated. HRI is the interdisciplinary study
that aims in establishing interaction dynamics. Robots are controlled to fill an increasing number
of roles in today’s world from factory mechanization to medical application (Lemaignan et al.
2017). HRI is therefore associated with a number of fields including engineering, computer
science, social science and others. The relations of HRI particularly in the area of computer
science is associated with the field of HRI, AI, natural language, robots and computer vision.

5. Research Questions and Methods
The research question associated with the chosen topic is indicated as follows-
How can HRI contribute to increasing the efficiency of certain vital business operations?
The success of a research is mostly associated with the choice of an appropriate method.
The method chosen for this study is a mixed method. A mixed research method indicate that both
primary and secondary data will be obtained in the study to fulfill the objectives and find answer
to the research question.
Mixed research method involves collection of both primary and secondary. The
secondary data will be obtained from already published literature journals and research papers
(Gray 2019). The primary data will be obtained from an online survey where a predetermined set
of questionnaire will be circulated among the research respondents to collect data linked with the
research. The research respondents will be chosen on basis of their experiences in the field of
HRI. People having experiences in the field of HRI will only be chosen for the study. The
collected data will be examined by the method quantitative data analysis process. The choice of
this particular research method is justified as it will help in collection of data from the previous
literatures along with collection of primary data from the users who have a knowledge about the
subject. The primary data will be collected from 100 individuals having knowledge about human
computer interaction. The research philosophy opted for the study is descriptive philosophy and
approach chosen is deductive approach as the study will involve testing of research hypothesis.

The work associated with HRI is relevant in improving the normal business operations.
The main functionality of a socially interactive robot lies within the ability of interacting with the
humans in an effective manner. The HRI has emerged over the past few decades for designing
the social robots in a useful, intuitive and user friendly manner. Human Robot interaction is
further necessary to minimize the inherent safety risks associated with physically assistive
robots. Increase in dependence on robots is a negative implication associated with this study.

Data science (DS) is described as the comprehensive study of information flow from the
colossal amount of data present within the repository of an organization. Research in this field is
significant as it involves obtaining meaningful insight from raw and unstructured data that is
mainly obtained through analytical, programming and business skills (Hardin et al. 2015).
Research in the area of data science is necessary as with a huge growth in the field of IOT, a
huge amount of data is generated. The area of data science is associated with the management of
a large amount of data.
4. Relation to Computer Science in General
Computer science is the primary branch and DS is its branch. Computer science generally
deals with algorithms and is mainly focused on software engineering. Data science can be
described as the mixture of three fields, which include, data engineering, mathematics and
statistics (Hardin et al. 2015). Therefore, it can be indicated that data science is directly linked
with computer science.

The research question that this particular study will evaluate is indicated as follows-
1. How can data science contribute to effective data management?
The evaluation of the above research question will contribute to understanding the role of
data science in data management. A qualitative research method is chosen to understand the
importance of data science in effective data management. To find answer to the identified
research question, secondary data will collected from the researches in this field. The collected
secondary data will undergo qualitative analysis to identify the importance of data science in the
data management (Johnston 2017). The choice of qualitative data is justified for the study mainly
because it will help in evaluation of the researches that has already been conducted in this field.
Data science involves a vast research area and therefore, the use of secondary data is
recommended. Secondary data sources provides an access to a large number of data and hence
qualitative research design is chosen for the study.
6. General Relevance
Data science is significantly important for solving complex business problems. It is a
technique of retrieving important data from a large number of unstructured data. Therefore
conducting a research in this field is important for business organization and can significantly
contribute in solving majority of the business problems. Data science has a significantly made a
positive impact on the process in which technology influences people’s lives (Agarwal and Dhar
2014.). There are certain important use of data science and therefore, it is used by the companies
in making powerful data driven decisions. There is no negative implication of data science,

however, mastering the art of data science is considered to be impossible as large amount of
domain knowledge is needed to work with data science.

Machine learning can be described as the process of data analysis, which mechanizes
analytical model building process. Machine learning is a part of AI and is related to computer
science (Marsland 2015). Research in the area of machine learning is important as it is capable of
producing models that can analyze bigger and more complex data and is capable of producing
accurate results. This particular research is undertaken to examine the different applications of
machine learning.
4. Relation to Computer Science in General
Machine leaning can be designated as a presentation of AI that empowers a system to
repeatedly learn and progress from the experience. Thus, it can be said that machine learning
mostly emphases on growth of effective computer programs capable of accessing data and use

the data for themselves (Marsland 2015). Therefore, machine learning is associated with image
and speech recognition, medical diagnosis, learning association and in data extraction.
5. Research Questions and Methods
The research question that will be evaluated in the current study is indicated as follows-
1. What are the opportunities and challenges for machine learning in business?
To find answer to the above indicated research question, a qualitative research strategy is
chosen. In this research study, primary data will be gathered from the individuals who have an
idea of machine learning. Machine learning is used in a number of business organizations to
improve and enhance the business processes and for that it is significantly necessary to research
on the opportunities and the challenges associated with machine learning. The primary data will
be collected in form of interview. 10 interview respondents will be chosen and a semi structured
interview will be carried out to understand the major opportunities and challenges linked with the
use of machine learning in business. The advantage of collecting data using the method of
interview is that the collected data is reliable and valid (Alshenqeeti 2014). The choice of
qualitative research design is justified as the study involves evaluation of the opportunities and
challenges that machine learning provide to a particular business. The interview conducted with
the individuals having knowledge about the use and efficiency of machine learning can
significantly contribute to finding opportunities and challenges linked with machine learning.
6. General Relevance
Machine learning is a fast-growing trend and therefore, researching about the challenges
and opportunities associated with the trend becomes a necessity. Machine learning has

application in government, retail, financial sector and healthcare sector (Jordan and Mitchell
2015). Researching about the opportunities and challenges associated with machine learning is
therefore essential to manage the key business functionality of an organization. Thus, researching
in this field is justified. One of the negative implication of machine learning is associated with
their invasiveness on users’ privacy.
Topic 4: Cloud Computing

security issues of cloud computing and their mitigation process”.

Cloud computing mainly denotes an “on demand” accessibility of resources in a
computer system that enhances computing power along with the storage. Cloud computing
delivers an on demand software service and therefore analysis of the security concerns linked
with the usage of cloud computing is needed to be addressed (Almorsy, Grundy and Müller
2016.). Cloud computing enables the users to access different files and application from any
device with the help of internet and therefore, there are certain security risks linked with the
general usage of cloud computing. The research will be analyzing the security issues that are
connected with the usage of this technology and therefore, successful fulfillment of the study is
necessary.

4. Relation to Computer Science in General
Cloud computing is directly associated with computer science. Cloud computing mostly
relies on shared computing resources and is directly linked with computer science. The cloud
computing services is mainly delivered over internet that gives rise to certain security
implications (Singh, Jeong and Park 2016). Cloud computing is used by different business
organizations to store and process the necessary data. It is a technology that refers to a
centralized storage space. The users share resources over the network of cloud.
5. Research Questions and Methods
The research question that will be addressed in this particular study is indicated as
follows-
1. What are the security issues linked with the use of cloud computing?
This particular study will involve the use of both primary and secondary data. The use of
mixed research method is proposed for the reseach as it will contribute to obtaining of both
primary and secondary data for the reseach (McCusker and Gunaydin 2015). The primary data
will be collected from a sample size of 50 individuals who have a knowledge of the research
subject. The secondary data will be obtained from the books and previously published literature
(Johnston 2017). The collected data will be analyzed using quantitative tools and will involve
statistical data analysis. The choice of this particular research method is justified as it will help in
identification of the security issues and its impact.
6. General Relevance
