Discuss the differences in operational requirements of specialist
areas and the potential issues managing the different specialist
areas for a range of resorts
There are some operational requirements that are part of speciality areas and
some of the potential issues that are arising while managing specialises areas of a
range of resorts are mentioned below:
Ski resort: The ski resort is generally developed for snowboarding, skiing and
winter sports, lots of the ski resorts are located adjacent to ski are or a mountainous
area with ski lift system. For the purpose of people developing preferences for these
resorts, they must possess experience. So the major issues are the location of these
resorts as they are generally located in northern and southern hemispheres. They are
generally located on mountains and require large slope. Sometimes the operational
requirement is in form of staff members who possess the required skills to train some of
their guests so that they are able to enjoy the main activity of these golf resorts (Byun
and Jang, 2018).
There is operational requirement for snowboarding and skiing. Ski slopes have to be
open and other operating system includes snow cat operators. Lift mechanics, ticket
scanner, ski school instructors for teaching ski, adaptive lessons. Janitors and pick up
trash for ensuring natural environment development.
Golf resorts: The main issues in case of the golf resort are the idea of golf as a
game. In this game there has to be a detailed experience and passion for playing golf
for the target segment of customers otherwise there will be no enhancement of revenue
for such resorts (Li, 2020). The first golf courses are based on the topography of sand
dunes and dune slacks with a cover of grasses and are exposed to sea and wind.

Health and safety: safety passers-by and golfers is very important to consider for
ensuring that safety of all the tourist is properly taken care. Safety to golfers and passer-
by is very important to consider in case of different golf resorts.
Caddy staff: in golf resorts caddy staff is very important for carrying on the equipments
and driving the golf cart.
Maintenance staff and course management: there is requirement of golf landscapes
and greenkeeper who are basically responsible for the up keeping of golf course and
sports for developing of a playing surface that has to be properly maintained.
There are some of the issues that arises for the management of such golf resorts
is to design a golf course that is challenging enough because there are certain limits
that can only be used for the purpose of attracting majority of customers. A perfect golf
course can be deigned only by skilled architects who are having detailed questionnaire
of the natural landscapes, understanding of the cohesion of grasses, vegetation, paths,
woodwork, stone work. A golf course design layout has to follow some traditional
principles that includes number of holes. Another important component is the
arrangement of greens proximity so that there can be minimization of distances and
varying of mix of different sizes of holes.
Beach resort: The major operational role that is focussed in case of Beach resort
is the location at the seaside and the facility to access the private beach. Beach resort is
offering a wide range of services, amenities and also includes the reactional and
entertainment facilities (Li, 2020).
Water treatment of pools: In Beach resorts pools are treated with chlitien has, calcium
hypochlorite, chlorinated isocyanurates. All these components are added to water so
that they can act as sanitizing agent and clean the water regularly.
Maintenance of equipment: different equipment that includes the boats have to be
timely maintenance so that there can be prevention of any type of operational difficulties
while the tourist are operating the vehicles.
Heath & safety of families: there must be used of blue flags that can be provided to
boat owners the information boat individual blue colored boat owners have to be

Adequate & well signposted lifesaving: at different danger areas there has to be
proper sign posting so that there can be prevention from any types of events that can
result in danger of the tourist who are visiting such resorts.
First aid & fire fighting equipment: there has to be presence of first aid facilities so
that in case of situations of emergency a speedy solution can be offered to injured
people and a timely rescue can be provided. Here has to be proper installations of fire
extinguishers & water hoses at respective facilities that is easily accessible by all the
tourists.
Protection of degradation is also a major concern for developers for future
improvement. There has to be a development process that can lead to a balance
between physical capacity and the economic needs of the developer.
Potential issues managing the different specialist areas for a range of resorts
There are some of the issues that are faced by resort managers while they are
managing different functional areas of resorts. These issues are a company faced by
them and have to be focussed in order to reduce its negative impact on the overall
functioning of the organisations.
Issues: One of the major issues in ski resorts is to provide rope tows so that are used in
case of short slopes. larger ski areas require gondola lifts and aerial tramways across
longer distances in ski area.
Ski resort: skiing resort includes energy intensive operations, relying on use of
fossil fuels and producing of green house gases all this is contributing towards a
scenario of global warming. So for maintaining the surface of snow a resort may require
ski runs that is deploying of a nightly felt of trail groomers each operating on 5 gallons of
diesel each hour that is producing nitrogen oxide, carbon dioxide and other emissions.
The numbers are incomplete and it results into issues of greenhouse gases that are
emitted in dissociation with resort skiing.
Coach for lessons: Another issue that is related to ski resorts includes the
course management where there is need of (Ahn and Thomas, 2020). It is also a issue

providing the coaching and guidance to tourist in order to enjoy skiing as a sport.
Operational requirements: some of the specific operational requirement of ski resorts
includes the ski patrol service to ensure that injured skiers are rescued. It is also based
on offering services to deal with dangerous situations. Some ski resorts are offering
lodging options on slopes with services of ski-in and ski-out that is allowing ski right up.
It also leads to an operational requirement to perform activities such as sledging, ice
skating, snowmobiling, hot tubbing.
Operational requirements: The major operations in ski resorts includes providing of
basic first aid facilities for ski patrol service to ensure that injured skiers are timely
rescued. There has to be presence of ski patrol that is responsible for rule enforcement,
making hazards, closing individual runs and removal of participants from dangerous
areas.
Golf resorts:
Management of water: it is a issues that is arsing in golf resorts because of the
requirement of water for maintaining the field in such resorts. This issue can be solved
by contributing towards aquatic ecosystems & watersheds. There can be use of water
cycle by naturally treating water that can lead to slow percolation of aquifers and soil
that will lead to improvement of quality of water (Breitbarth, Kaiser-Jovy and Dickson,
2017).
Beach resorts:
Another issue is managing the specialist requirement is a healthy flow of water that can
offer pleasing quality surrounding. There has to be only reasonable fluctuation in the
water levels. Architects have to take into account the social interest of boaters for
supporting the facilities. Users are divided in-service traffic and social by destination.
There is another operating requirement for marina development, boat launching equity,
firefight, boat sewage disposal and boat storage facilities. All these are some of the
specific operational requirements that are also an issue for the management of such
resorts (Breitbarth, Kaiser-Jovy and Dickson, 2017). managing of weather condition's si
