INTRODUCTION
The main aim of Global star enterprise is to reduce its carbon footprint by 50% by the end of
year 2030. They wanted to become leading firm with eco friendly manufacturing. GSE believe
that in order to achieve worldwide success its essential for them to improve their environmental
performance. They are working to make compatible balance with balance between economic,
social and environmental need so that sustainable development can be brought in the firm.
The firm is trying to reduce their footprint in environment by making some major change
in their production while making sure that all their shareholders are provided with value. The
firm try to conduct all their activity by making sure that they have minimum effect on the
environment. In order to achieve the above mention objective the GSE make sure that they are
complying with all the legal obligation so that basic standard can be maintained in addition to
this they have also laid their own standards where there is no law (Global star enterprise. 2017).
The entity also ensure that they minimize the pollution and environmental impact but only at
local and regional level but also at global level. They are also making necessary changes in their
operating practices by efficient use of resource in designing the product and reducing waste at
the time of production.
Corporation is also making effort by supporting research so that they can have better
understanding of the environment so that they can make proper decision regarding all
environmental problem. Making a plan is not enough the firm also make sure that they monitor
each of their activities so its effect can be analysed and can make necessary changes in their
working so that they can reduce their footprint. Other than this GSE also believe in setting
internal target that help them in adopting continuous development method, other than this the
firm has also adopted transparent method where they openly talk about their environmental
performance. GSE not only strive to meet their own expectation but also the expectation of the
community, they try to listen to the concern of the society so that they can make necessary
changes in the time of need. The firm also make donation to Carbonfund.org which help
business in fighting global warming by reducing the production of carbon. The CEO in regard
of above objective has asked each department to present their own improvement plan that can
help them in order to achieve their objective.

a) Three resources efficiency issues and their impact on performance of organsiation and
environment.
Electrical equipment: The retail showroom is in the dire need to update their electronic
equipment with the time, while developing the plan it has comes forward that the firm is
required to pay huge electricity bill because of old equipment that consume too much electricity.
It also has harmful effect on the environment as compare to new product this electronic product
produce more CO2 and HFCS gas that are harmful for environment (Ozin, 2015).
Excessive waste: The showroom has inappropriate waste management that lead to high waste at
the time of production and packaging. The packing supply generally consist of plastic,
thermostat polymer etc. that has adverse effect on the environment (Hou and et. al., 2015).
Furthermore, high wastage also increase the operational cost of the firm.
Wastage of water resources: There is continuous complain of leakage of water in toilet and
kitchen which lead to unnecessary wastage of water which is not good for environment (Althor,
Watson and Fuller, 2016) and it also increases the overall bill that is paid by government.
b) Existing resource usage policies incorporated in workplace.
General resource usage policy: In order to maintain wastage in the firm. The dustbin are
coloured and label according for recycling product Blue dustbin is used, for non biodegradable
waste green colour dustbin are used (Tibbetts, 2015). The firm are very strict with this rule and
employees have to pay for penalty if they do not abide by this.
Paper resource's usage policy: The firm is adopting more and more digitalisation in their
working so that they can reduce the usage of paper. In case paper are used it makes sure that it
are properly used ans no space is wasted.
c) Current resources' usage measurement.
Measurement of wastage: Physical assessment method can be used to measure the wastage. The
firm can document this in database which will make it easy for them to measure the waste
Measurement of electricity: Through analysis it has come forward that because of old
equipment the electricity cost is much high, the firm desktop method in order to measure the
electricity consumption amount (Ramli and et. al., 2015).

d) Activities to bring improvement in firm
The firm need to update their product and change them with high quality that not only
produce less toxic gas but also use less electricity. GSE can also adopt high technology in their
working where the lights can get automatically switched off after the fix time so that electricity
can saved ((Tibbetts, 2015)). Other than this firm can conduct a campaign in order to create
awareness among people related to water. It can also implement strict policy regarding wastage
of water.
e) Role and responsibility of administration assistant and his team.
Administrative department is responsible to provide clerical support like mailing,
scanning, faxing important information. It also makes sure that each and every activity are
documented well and there is proper maintenance of electronic and hard copy system so that
important file can easily found at the time of need. Administrative assistant is also responsible to
delegate the work among the subordinate so that each activity can be carried out in efficient
manner. He is also responsible to guide team in right direction. As a team they are required to
follow the instruction of administration assistant. They are required to work in perfect
coordination and collaboratively so that each of them can contribute in the success of the firm.
They are also required to identifying various issue that can affect the plan and come up with
various solution that can help them in resolving this issue.
