1RESPONSE LETTER
Dear mom,
I cannot thank you enough for bringing me to this world and giving me a beautiful
life since my birth. I am glad to be the daughter of you and daddy who struggled so much to
bring me in this world. I don’t have much of the childhood memories but I do remember how
excited you both looked like whenever you hold me in your hands. I remember playing with you
and daddy on the playground and how daddy took care of every little thing. Though I don’t
remember much about my first school day but there are days which you cannot forget no matter
how hard you try. I remember when I was bullied at school and cried every day after coming
back home, you and daddy were so upset on knowing this. I did not want to tell you this because
at that age I thought it to be shameful to be bullied. You were worried and concerned because
you could clearly see things on my face how it affected my performance at school. You both
struggled to put a smile on my face, I remember daddy to bring me toys and chocolates to get his
‘smart girl’ back. Days passed by and I realised soon and I shared with you. I remember how
much effort you both put in to send me to another school. I can never measure or count the
contribution you both put in to make a better world for me. I can never stop appreciating every
little and big decisions you made for my own good.
Receiving a beautiful letter like this is the best thing ever, but, I was filled with
discontent on receiving this because I found that you were struggling so much and the doctor
directed you in a wrong way that was not medically correct. He was prescribing you medicines
that were not meant for preventing the disease you were having. Taking wrong medicines can
cause huge health trouble. Thank God, no such complications came your way. Medical
discrepancy can have lifelong implications, therefore, I wish you had consulted another medical

specialist who could actually help you. Still its better that you changed your doctor soon. Take a
good of yourself mom. PCOS can have lifelong implications so it’s better if you go for a routine
check-up and get diabetes and hypertension tested. In women with PCOS, there are huge chances
of health risks like diabetes, high blood pressure and also cardiovascular disease. Do continue
taking medicines for PCOS because once stopped it can lead to further complications including
breast, endometrial and ovarian cancer. Mom, I want you to join a gym or a regular exercise
program and increase daily activities as these will prevent insulin resistance and help you keep a
track and control weight to avoid developing diabetes. Mom, maintain a healthy food habit and
try eating low carbohydrate diets. I want you to consult a dietician in case you face problem in
planning your diet. The best way to deal with PCOS are maintaining a proper diet and doing
regular exercise. Limit the intake of sugary and fatty foods and try eating healthy foods, these
will help you to live a healthy life.
Lots of love,
Daughter
