Personal and professional development can be facilitated by reflecting upon the
practices and actions of individuals. Thus it is very important that individuals must act with
very planned approach to identify their learning needs and to take essential steps for
enhancing their capabilities and skills. Various academic activities also help in
understanding ethical concerns and social awareness regarding multiple dimensions of real
world situations.
How and why have the project workshop activities developed your social and
ethical awareness and responsibility? (500 words)
The project activities have been great and significant in terms of developing social
responsibility and ethical awareness. For understanding the responsibilities and ethical
aspects of the situations it is fundamental requirement that one must be able to identify their
strengths and weaknesses. During workshop activities when I assessed my skills and
response during SWOT analysis it helped me to understand my ability towards making
judgement ethically. When self-abilities are clear then it becomes more convenient for
individuals to become socially responsible and to take a clear stand upon ethical concerns.
The skills such as academic integrity, academic writing, note taking and time management
played vital role in making me highly professional. With such wide range of activities, I was
able to understand that it is my social responsibility to complete all academic activities and
its importance. The application of ethical values in workshop activities gave me a learning
that in other aspects of life as well I must follow the ethics and regulations. It will not only
enhance my quality of work but will also develop accountability and responsibility towards
the decisions. I think the most important skill which I learned through workshop is reflection
ability.
While making important decisions in life it is important that one must consider their
previous experiences. Especially if my actions will be affecting social issues and subjects
then I will be more cautious and careful to take ethical decisions. Ethical awareness can be
developed only if one understands the consequences of certain actions and need for society
and environment. For this purpose, communication plays an important role that how ethical

issues are understood and informed. During workshop I learned to differentiate between
effective and ineffective communication approaches. The learnings encouraged me to give
equal emphasis on speaking, listening as well as correct communication medium and tone.
Effective communication skills are essential in various stages of fulfilling social responsibility
and managing ethical concerns.
Certain skills and techniques such as note taking, reading log and time management
are also important and crucial for making ethical judgements. Before choosing any aspect
on the ethical grounds if these skills and learnings are taken into consideration then ethical
choices become more convenient and individually can take more responsible decisions.
Development of time management skill will encourage me to take responsible decisions
within required time period so that efficiency is not compromised and opportunities are not
missed. Accomplishment of required goals on time with efficiency is also reflection of ethical
responsibility and awareness. With note taking skills and experience, situations in which
ethical decision making becomes a challenge, choices can become clear. Note taking skill
help individuals to properly note down the related aspect of topic of discussion. Written
description provides clear evaluation of positive and negative sides of decision. Work shop
activities also made me learn about multiple approaches in which reliable and ethical nature
of choices can be determined so that socially and ethically responsible behavior can be
demonstrated. The learning of communication approaches during workshop can be used to
gain knowledge on socially debatable topics and to raise social awareness.
Importance and value of the Appendices-
The documents developed in appendices are helpful for ethical awareness. With
presentation and communication skill one can enhance the knowledge on social issues.
With note taking and reflection abilities it becomes very easy to criticize the available
choices and to select only most appropriate option. The learning of CV and cover letter is
important for the professional growth and opportunities. They help in informing others about
our own aspiration and goals. These also make it easy for the other professionals to judge if
one is socially responsible or not. The completion of workshop activities also imposes
choices for learner to complete those activities with academic rules and integration. Hence
