Introduction
Responsible leadership is the key factor for the overall welfare of the
organization. Leadership is the building block for the smooth functioning of any
organizational setup. This is mainly because of the fact that there are several changes
taking place in the needs and demands of the customers, in order to satisfy the changing
and the increasing demands, the organizations have to make sure that they are having a
good leadership system (Javeria et al., 2019) . A responsible leader is one who will be able
to keep the employees happy and make sure that they are being able to participate in all
the different decision making approaches. However it must be ensured that the
managers are being able to understand the feedbacks, ideas and opinions that are being
shared by their employees. This will help the employees or the followers develop a trust
on their leaders (Harris et al., 2017) . They will be unable to work with a greater potential
and also make sure that they are outing forwarded a collaborative approach for gaining
the goals and objectives of the organization in this tough complicated world. It has been
seen from the interview conducted with the operations manager of Pier One Autograph
Collection Hotel, Sydney that there are several complicated issues that arise in the organization
and the different ways in which they can be solved. This research sets the goal to analyze the
impact of the responsible leadership upon the organization and identify the organizational issue.

Interview overview
The interview was mainly conducted in order to gain an idea about the
complicated global business environment and the different ways in which then
same can be solved. However it has been seen from the interview that leadership is
one of the most essential things that must be present in all the organizational set
ups in order to deal with the different business challenges that can arise. The
interview was conducted with the operational manager of the hotel and he said that
there are many issues that can arise often (Koh, Fernando & Spedding 2018) . However
a sound leadership is needed in order to manage all these issues. A responsible
leader is one who is compassionate and also supportive in nature. He will always
take care of the different needs and demands of his employees and help them to
overcome their skill gaps as well.

Question 1: the traits and skills of a good responsible leader
A responsible and a good leader is one who has so e kinds of traits like vision,
imagination. Willingness to take up the right action, responsibility and also has a proper
awareness. However at the same time, it must be seen that in order to survive in this tough
competitive market, a manager has to know the differences between the traits of a good

manager and a good leaders. It is essential to be good leaders in order to be a good manager
(Hofmann, Burke & Zohar, 2017). The operations manager of the hotel said that often he faces
some issues in making the employees adhere to some id the changes that are introduced in the
organization (Amponsah-Tawiah & Mensah, 2016). In order to handle such situations he has to
take up the role of a good leader rather than staying as a manager. In other words he has to
ensure that employees are being inspired and empowered. There must be flexibility in the
organization so that all, the employees can reach out to their managers or their superiors
whenever they are in need.
The complexity of the global business environment and the need for responsible
leadership
A responsible leader is needed in order to make sure that employees are not being
neglected in any way and are being able to take part in all the different business meetings and
the discussion sessions. The different theories of leadership must be considered in this
context in order to understand about the ways in which one can be a responsible and good
leader can in order to face all these challenges of the Global complicated business world. The
three important theories are-

Trait theory suggests that leaders are horn great and they have some inherent qualities
within them which make them a good leader (Castro-González et al., 2019). However it is
not true because during the interview but was seen that the operational manager stressed
upon the different ways in which one can become a leader and can exhibit his leadership
qualities. For an instance there are different situations and a true responsible leader is one

who will be flexible in adopting with the different changing situations and can also
change his leadership style with the same.

The three important aspects or qualities that a responsible leader must adhere to are-
help, motivation and support. Any complicated global issue can be solved easily if the
employees or the followers are getting a proper support from their leaders. A leader
always has to help his followers to make sure that they can identify the long term goals
and the objectives that have been set by the organization. For an instance the Pier One
Autograph Collection Hotel, Sydney may have the goal of developing a good and
strong grip over the digitalized platforms so that they can gain a profitable position in the
hospitality sectors. However it must be ensured that the employees must be given the due
help and support through trainings and work sessions so that they can develop their skills
and move forward with a collaborative approach.
Among the different leadership approaches like autocratic, democratic and Laissez
faireLeadership, democratic leadership is the most productive style. This is because of the
fact that the democratic leadership style the leader will give his followers the complete

Question 2: biggest management weakness as a responsible leader
There are several hurdles that have to be faced by a leader while they are managing their
organizational affairs. However a true and responsible leader is one who is able to face all these
challenges in a bold manner and also be able to find out the right kind of solution. As per the
interview that was given by the operations manager of Autograph Collection Hotel, Sydney,
one the one of the major challenge that he faces is to hire the right talent for the right job. This is
because the business world is becoming bigger and highly complicated in this modern day
scenario. Therefore it is really very difficult to understand about the changing needs and
demands of the customers and the different ways in which he can solve this issue. I have realized
that one of my biggest weakness is lack of confidence which leads to the issues in the decision
making process. This is mainly because I get nervous whenever I have to take some critical
situation in front of him. It must be noted in this context that it is the duty of a manager to take
the right decisions during times of any urgent need (Kim, Park & Park, 2016). I have to
overcome this issue by undertaking proper discussion sessions with all the employees so that I
can get all the innovative business ideas in order to reach to the right business decision without
any wastage of time.
My greatest leadership strength is empathy. I am able to make myself flexible so that I
can reach out to all my employees or followers and make them comfortable. This helps me to
understand all the needs and demands of the team members or the employees. This is very useful
for me to understand the kinds of training session or the workshops that needs to be conducted in
order to take care of all the welfare needs of the employees.

Culture of the organization that would exist because of responsible leadership
A responsible leadership will be beneficial for introducing an employee
friendly and healthy culture. This is because the employees will be able to reach out
to their managers or their respective departmental heads without fearing from the
issue of being un-heard. A responsible leader will differ from that of a manager.
Unlike a manager who may focus only on the commanding and the forcing his
decisions, a leader will be seeking for approval from the end of his employees. A
responsible leader will allow the employees to take part in the business decisions.
Question 3: risk to health and safety in the workplace
It is the duty of the management system of any organization to make sure that the
employees are getting a healthy and safe work environment. The managers must initiate
facilities like medical and health insurance, regular counseling sessions, free health
checkups for the employees and their families so that they can have a healthy life. Apart
from this there must be a total security available to all the employees against the workplace
harassments like gender discrimination or any other forms of bullies. This will help the
employees to get a proper work environment and work with proper potential and efficiency.
A responsible leader will be able to maintain a sound relationship with both the internal and
the external stakeholders as well (Lam, Huang & Chan, 2015). He will be able to maintain a
horizontal communication system so that the employees can reach out to them whenever
necessary. A responsible leader will also be flexible enough so that he can adopt himself to

the different changes that are taking place in the organization. During any emergencies or
any organization problem a responsible leader will always consider taking the opinion and
the views of all his stakeholders so that he can quickly reach to the solution and also bring
about a lot of innovation within the ongoing business.
Question4: What are the challenges of having a diverse workforce
One of challenges is to deal with the difference in opinion of the employees. Diverse
workforce refers to different employees coming from different backgrounds. As a result of this
the employees might not be acquainted with the different languages, thoughts and the
understanding of different employees. Therefore they might not be able to comprehend one
another and there can be some differences of opinion or some conflicts as well

Thus it can be concluded that a responsible leadership is needed in order to solve
the complicated issues of a Global business organization. There can be several obstructions in
the smooth functioning of an organization like the conflict of interest, differences in the
opinions and many other such aspects. Therefore a good and responsible leader must be one
who is empathic and flexible in nature. He will make all his employees reach out to him and
also look after the welfare needs of all his employees.

The organizational issue that is seen is the employee resistance to change
