Introduction
The term work experience refers to time being spent at a workplace being indulged in
processes of performing job roles and gaining effective learnings. The elements such as being
honest, hard working and dedicated adds up to the value of good work experience through which
an individual can develop its skill-sets and abilities for securing a decent career path. The
provided report is a placement diary that will elaborate experience and work gained while
working in a restaurant as an assistant manager. This will include work done in respective
weeks while working at Indian restaurant i.e., Zindiya Streatery & Bar that is situated in 21
Woodbridge Rd, Birmingham B13 8EJ, United Kingdom (Zindiya Streatery & Bar, 2022).
Week 1
Operating a restaurant firm can be the most stressful work contrasting to contemporary
business environment. In the provided context, being selected as the manager at Zindiya
Streatery & Bar I was defined with variety of job roles that were correlated to my job
description. In the first phase, I was greeted with respective HODs of the firm including
production department, sales and marketing department. I was acknowledged about nature of
business workings and chain of command i.e., Hierarchy that was being followed at the
workplace. Throughout my experience while working at Zindiya Streatery & Bar key attention
was being made to integrate activities through positive working environment towards attainment
of desired business goals and objectives. Therefore, by observing working environment of the
restaurant business it was recognised that there was a greater need of team workings and
effective communication at the workplace. I was very excited to work in the given firm as I liked
the environment of individuals at the workplace. In addition to this, better basis was also set on
engaging with employees and evaluating on productive basis of workings in the business firm.
Week 2
In the provided week, I concentrated towards maintaining the positive working
environment for the restaurant business. This was done through adopting effective techniques of
communication and team working at Zindiya Streatery & Bar. As being observed from week 1,
provided restaurant follows Hierarchical chain of common for communication. For the purpose
being effective techniques of communications are being followed in the restaurant firm. This
supports provided organisational structure and with help of digital technologies and related

communication equipments respective workforce (Zindiya Streatery & Bar, 2022). In addition to
this, I dedicated firm's resources with my efforts with respect to attain collaboration and team
working at the workplace. For the purpose being each tasks at the workplace was integrated with
team working spirits and working in groups was being appreciated. For ensuring better
performance of tasks at the workforce specified qualitative standards of operation was being set.
Therefore, in the respective week, by using techniques of communication and through promotion
of collaboration in workplace activities, I was able to maintain positive working environment in
the restaurant firm. However, there were key consideration to dynamic business environment in
which regular changes in behaviour of consumers were being taken into consideration
(Filimonau, Nghiem and Wang, 2021).
Week 3
For the preceding week, I performed variety of tasks for which most of them were
dedicated in respect to countering challenges faced by the restaurant business. These challenges
was inclusive of frequent changes in behaviour of consumer being observed due to workings in
dynamic business markets. The given restaurant i.e., Zindiya Streatery & Bar offers variety of
dishes including Crab Raita, Kentish Mutton and one of the popular delivery is Mutton Gravy for
the provided region (Zindiya Streatery & Bar, 2022). However, the business faced challenges
that was with regards to operational working of the business firm. Such challenges includes
external factors that impact on operational working of the firm. While working of the business
firm there was risk of changes in preferences and tastes of consumers in the operational business
environment. This can lead to downfall in demand for products offered by given restaurant
which would further lead to decrease in revenue of the respective firm. Therefore, concentration
towards enabling resolving such challenges and relates issues was being taken into consideration.
Week 4
In this last week, I initiated productive efforts with respect to resolve challenges faced by
the provided restaurant firm i.e., Zindiya Streatery & Bar. Being assigned as assistant manager in
the respective firm key strategic approaches was being taken into consideration for resolving
reported challenges and issues faced in previous week i.e., week 3. This included maintaining
positive working environment of the business firm through taking instance of performing regular
business market researches. In the process being regular market researches of the business
market was being performed with respect to monitor dynamic market changes. In addition to

this, key basis was set upon maintaining employee collaboration at the workplace. This was done
through being accountable to employee's feedbacks and thus gaining effective trust of staff at the
workplace. Through, this I was able to perform significant changes in working organisation as a
reaction to impact of external as well as internal forces on business workings. Therefore, this was
the last week for the placement diary, it is being amazing experience so far while working in the
restaurant firm and better hopes are made for the same in future operations as an assistant
manager.
Conclusion
From the analysis of above reflective placement diary, it can be concluded that effective
learnings was being drawn while working in the restaurant firm. It can be understood that for
operating a restaurant smoothly respective staffs working in the firm should coordinate as a team
and accomplish desired goals and objectives. Being assistant manager of the respective
restaurant firm major focus of operational tasks in the firm was being focused on collaborating
team workings and communication at the workplace. However, there were several challenges
that was encountered including regular changes in behaviour of consumer that restricted the
profitability of the restaurant business.
