INTRODUCTION
The aim of this report is elaborate the work and experience gained by working in a
restaurant. This will help in analysing the work done in all four weeks and evaluating what it has
been learned during these weeks. Lasan is taken as base company. Lasan is an Indian restaurant
in St Paul's Square, Jewellery Quarter, UK which was co-founded in 2002 by Aktar Islam and
Jabbar Khan. It is a 64-seat restaurant that serves modern, contemporary Indian cuisine in a
modern and minimalist environment. It was the first Indian restaurant in the United Kingdom to
be named Best Local Restaurant in 2009.
Week 1
I was working as a manager in Lasan which is an Indian restaurant. During the induction, I learnt
about the job's rules and procedures and I noticed some useful hints in the jobs handbook. During
the induction, the boss discusses selecting an employee of the month every month, and often the
particular employee gets a bonus. I must master a variety of tactics that will make task smoother
and more enjoyable at the end of each turn. The orientation was beneficial, but you
must developing special working habits that will always keep on track (Rasbach, 2018). The
senior manager told that the number one trick to making a positive impression is to still have a
pleasant look on your face no matter what position you're in to remind those around you that
you're happy to work and ready to work hard. As a manager I was having responsibilities of all
the employees working as well as needed to monitor and track their progress at the same time.
Also I was responsible to Overseeing the whole restaurant business, providing exceptional guest
service, ensuring customer satisfaction, creating and planning guest loyalty programmes and
many more.
Week 2
Customer service is an essential component of every restaurant. Customer care extends
well beyond the front of the house employees and encompasses several diverse aspects of a
restaurant's day-to-day activities. Take the time to listen to their concern or idea and be
understanding and empathetic. Also with the finest restaurants, problems will eventually occur.
A restaurant's environment is an important element in its popularity, and inadequate customer
relations result in an environment that scares away prospective customers who might come in on
a constant schedule. It makes me understand that how to like to be handled as a client. I make a

list of the big points that I believe must be there, that I missed but made my journey worthwhile
and also movements that make it too much. I make sure that each and every employee of the
hotel should be able to treat the customers properly and also ensures that the customer
requirements are fulfil leaving a satisfactory work done on their faces. Greeting establishes the
tone of the experience and informs consumers of what to expect. It is fair to say that a warm
greeting will put consumers in a good mood, while a purely formal welcome will throw them
away. . Along with this, I was able to understand how the complaints of the customers are
handled. Sometimes the customers are not satisfied by the services provides by the hotel which
leads in complaints. Their complaints can be resolved by listening them firstly. This is helps the
organisation to find their faults so that they can rectify for the same.
Week 3
Nearly 12000 Indian restaurants are present in UK which means that Indian cuisines is like
by the people of UK. They are on social media such as Instagram in which they post variety of
dishes, new launching dishes and more. This helps the customer knowing about the different
dishes and the speciality of the hotel. Food is something of a fundamental survival requirement.
It's just something that a lot of people like. From a pop cultural theme to the social experience of
eating, there are many explanations why food and the chefs that prepare meals are so important
today. Chefs play an important part in the kitchen. Their responsibilities include not only
supervising other chefs, but even preparing menus, ensuring proper presentation, and also
designing fresh, innovative recipes for those one-of-a-kind meals that everybody craves. The
restaurant is serving a wide range of variety of Indian food starting from starters to main course
to desert. The chef has a big role in making the restaurant brand by providing Indian food to the
customers. As a manager I make sure that all the employees if different functional areas must
collaborate with each other so that the hotel can perform better.
Week 4
Each team member plays a unique role. Each team member's strengths and vulnerabilities
are distinct but they are all working for the same end. I came to in know in the fourth week that
working in team has a positive impact on the each other. Slower delivery, more delays,
disrespectful employees and a poor guest experience result from a lack of coordination. Guests

suffer the most when workers are unsupportive, resentful, and unable to go above and beyond.
Teamwork in the restaurant should not happen by itself. It requires preparation, preparation, and
a commitment to continuous team work (Finch, 2017). A well-trained workforce not only helps
workers develop their on-the-job abilities, but it also helps them improve essential soft skills like
teamwork and confidence. For improving, both staff, whether front- or back-of-house should be
aware of the company's long-term objectives. From my 100 hours in the Lasan as a manager, I
came to know about various functions and responsibilities. Customer service is the first priority
and the hotel and the entire staff member give their best to satisfy the customer’s needs and
demands.
CONCLUSION
From the above, it can be concluded that in all the weeks while working in the restaurant, for
a restaurant to run smoothly, all employees should work as a team. In this report, it includes
customer services which are vital as the main objective is to satisfy their need and demands. The
chefs also play also an essential role in providing food and beverages to the customers which is
explained. Along with this, it is also concluded that for a restaurant to work, teamwork and
collaboration to each other is important which is mentioned in this report.
