Psychological Perspective: Cognitive and Biological
Introduction
Psychology involves the examination of human behaviors and mental functioning
(Nordqvist 54). The people in charge of the study are referred to as psychologist who has
developed the art of studying the behavior of various organisms that is humans and other
animals. The study develops an understanding concerning the behavior of a given population
that in return helps develop a character that is conversant with the environment. The attribute
mostly applies in situations where a person is charged with a responsibility upon a group of
people for example school teachers and administrators. In the above case, the teacher is able
to develop a good relationship with the students after a study of their behavior. Similarly, the
administrators develop a good relationship with the group that he or she is exercising
authority upon. Psychology also helps identify mental distress of an organization and in the
realization of the factors resulting in the stressful living of the organism. The study develops
measures to regain the organism normal life which helps prevents the occurrence of diseases
associated with stressful living more so among human beings. There are two main
psychological perspectives, that is, cognitive and biological. The papers review the two
perspectives to develop insight and knowledge that is applicable in the psychology field.

Cognitive psychology is a branch of psychology that studies the way people process
information. The study links the stimulus and response delivered to help interpret the mental
functioning. The study involves a series of studies through various ways including, language,
observation of the character and studying the way of thinking adopted by a being. The aim of
the study is to identify the cause of a problem for the admission of treatment to the patient.
For the cognitive exercise to be successful some key aspects are considered that is a good
relationship should be developed between the patient and the psychologist. The patient
should also develop a focus on the positive effect of the process of improving his or her
condition. In addition, the treatment time frame and goals should be developed to ensure the
commitment of the parties involved (Frank 14). In most cases, cognitive therapy is focused
on removing cognitive distortions that lead to errors in reasoning. As a result, an individual
develops poor decisions and misconceptions that result in emotional suffering.
Biological perspective
Biological psychology which is also known as psychological psychology is involved
in studying the relationship between psychological processes and the events that trigger them
(Walter 51). More so the approach focusses on the functioning of the body to various
activities identified with human beings. The functioning of the body is mostly a result of
mind interpretation and decision development. The key area studied under this model include
motivated behavior that is emotions, memories and mental disorders. The activities are put
into consideration mainly because there are a direct effect of one’s emotions and play a great
role in finding the solution and cure to a patient condition. The study of these activities helps
identify the cause of disorder in-patient decision-making process. It also studies the stimuli to
the functioning of the nervous system with respect to various activities encountered by a
being
