INTRODUCTION
Everyone has a story of their own and entrepreneur experience can be used by others to
get inspired and start their own career. There are a lot of risks and a lot of steps which have to be
taken by an entrepreneur which is going to be discussed in the further report. The entrepreneur
which is going to be discussed in this report is Robyn Rihanna Fenty who was born in 1988. She
is a singer, actor, business women and an entrepreneur.
MAIN BODY
Theoretical knowledge of entrepreneurship
Rihanna had no idea what she wanted to be till she was 15 because she was worried for
what happened in the house and if she was to be believed for what was going on. She was beaten
up as well by her father once but her mother was everyday because the father was an alcoholic
and drug addict who used all his income for this purpose. Rihanna’s health started to get affected
and she fell sick till her parents did not part their ways (Elert and Henrekson, 2016). After this
got over she was getting bullied in school for her skin tone because her father had a Irish
decadence which made her shut down even more which is why she is what she is today. She is a
very introvert person and does not like speaking her problems out so easily. She grow strong
because of this reason therefore she is grown as a person as of today. Rihanna had no idea that
after she overcome her shyness and being unconfident as a person, would be able to grow so
much in the music industry. She took part in the her high school beauty pageant after fighting her
shy behaviour and sung Mariah Carey’s ‘Hero’ which made her win the competition and she
knew her direction since then. When she was 16 she met Evan Rogers who knew she had talent
in her and she even auditioned for him in Barbados when he was there for a vacation (Julien,
2018).
Rihanna was confident by then that she wanted to do this for her future career which is
why she continued and went to USA and did not look back. She did not need support but all she
needed was a better lifestyle. She did not know what life holds for her and if she will be able to

grow as a person in this industry which is what she learnt from the step she took that confidence
and faith in their own dream can make the person have a better life. Rihanna went to USA and
stayed with Evan and his wife and after moving there she recorded a song call ‘Pon De Replay’
which was sent out to different record companies. Jay Z took just one day to realize that she had
a talent which can be appreciated by the world (Storey, 2016). It is very important for her
because she had left her home town had started fresh. Rihanna became famous was the richest
female singer but she was still not satisfied with what she had achieved therefore she started a
foundation for the ill children and a business which was makeup. Her organization is named after
her last name Fenty beauty which was started up with her own money which she earned from the
hard work she had done in the singing industry. She had an abusive relationship in the singing
industry which made her go in depression and this even became public which made her lose hope
in life. She was embarrassed because all this took place in front of the media which was even
worst since she did not know how to react and was angry (Read and et.al., 2016). She was not
just physically abused but she was also being cheated on by the person she loved the most. She is
the eldest child and she had to take care of herself because the father did not care for her so she
had to do something about it sooner or later.
Rihanna has a very pure heart which is why she wants to help everyone so that they do
not have to face what she faced in her childhood. Rihanna is trying to make a better place and
make sure that the people who follow her get what they think Rihanna is having in life so that
they can be satisfied as well (Dutta and Sobel, 2016). It is very important to grow as people and
that is only possible when you help others. “I got the fame but I got more fame because of the
people who loved me for what I did”. Rihanna was happy that she could get a comfortable life
for herself and her family but she wanted to help others as well. It is very important to get
confidence and to take risks in life so that they can grow because till you do not take a road
which is not travelled upon then no one is going to take taken even after you. Those roads which
are not taken by others can lead you to places which no one had imaged. Rihanna knew that she
had to life in Barbados with her family and she had to stand up on her own feet, by the contest
she took part in during high school made her realize that she could make a career in this field
which is going to make her stand out. She did not have any idea as to how the money should be
used in a business field but she did invest in something she was determined to do. There were a
lot of ups and downs that her organization has faced but just because she was determined to do

what she wanted to make her stand strong and keep working hard so that she could build up her
business (Manso, 2016). She promoted her own brand and wore it all the time so that she could
attract the girls and women in the world for her organization which is a great factor for the
company.
Methods and Techniques
There was no plan with Rihanna but she was determined to change the way people
treated her and she did not want that anyone else should be treated as she was in the past. She
wore clothes and makeup which make her the fashion icon. Rihanna used herself as a technique
to make the people aware of her organization so that there is a better functioning of the
organization. It is very important for the people to have the right methods, clarity and confidence
as to what they want to do in life only then they will be able to achieve those factors which are
important. Rihanna grow as a person but she could not overcome her fear and mental pain which
she had faced which is why she needed help so that she could overcome those and keep moving
forward. Rihanna loves Chris Brown who cheated and physically abused her for finding out the
truth when it was not even her fault which make her get hurt even more because she is an
introvert person and having media on her head made her confused as to how she should be
reacting (Kuratko, 2016). It is very important for the owner to set out examples for the people
who are working under them so that they can give their best in the company. Rihanna never
showed anyone about the pain she had been through because she wanted to come out of them
stronger and not what people expected to be. All the past experience of her made her come out to
be more powerful and a new idea so that she could be successful. Risk is essential in a business
which is why she used her own money to start her own business so that she could help those
people who needed her help.
There is a lot of learning in the industry of music, movies, etc in which she has been and
she even knows the struggle where she had nothing at all. There are always a up and down which
needed to be overcome by the entrepreneur which is exactly what she did so that she could give
her best. Failures are present in everything we do and from the very start Rihanna did not have a
successful life like having a stable family or good friends in school who would have understood
her therefore she started her journey alone and ended up making a great life for her. There was a

right attitude which Rihanna has for herself which is making her very unique in nature because
no matter how much negativity is going on in her life she will only bring out positive vibes for
the people around her. There has to be time and productivity in the organization which Rihanna
took care of because she did promotions for her products in the business which is why she took
the responsibility to see the productivity of the organization as well so that the customers can be
given their demands on time and there is always extra because makeup products are always the
basic need for a women (Chowdhury, Audretsch and Belitski, 2019). Everyone should look
pretty for themselves and to impress their own self heart so that they can have a better
functioning for themselves. Rihanna does not depend on anyone else to make her decisions for
her and she does what she wants to from her heart so that she can be satisfied for herself which is
a very essential factor for her.
There has to be no fear in the entrepreneur so that there is a better functioning of the
organization as well so that the goals can be achieved from time to time. Commitment is present
in the entrepreneur who starts their own business in the market, like Rihanna gave her full
attention to her organization so that she could have a good start up in the market which is a very
essential factor for her (Acs and et.al., 2018). There was a strong communication which was put
out by Rihanna for her business so that she could help in the growth of her own organization
which is a very essential factor. There is a requirement of a strong team in the organization so
that there can be a better functioning which is going to make the company have a better
functioning. This factor is going to make the demands of the customers be met and the company
will be able to have a strong productivity in the organization. Knowledge is also very essential
for the business but Rihanna has a strong team which helps her to understand the functioning of
the organization so that she could fulfil the needs and the expectations of the people from her
organization. She did not have a lot of knowledge what was being used in the organization but
she took full interest in making a place for herself which is why she focused in the company
which is making the business have a better name for them in the market (Nambisan, Siegel and
Kenney, 2018). There are challenges which have to be faced but Rihanna has developed a thick
skin which is why she accepted them all even if the company had a loss.

CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be concluded that everyone have their ups and downs but it
is very important for them to stay strong and make decisions which make them satisfied and
happy. Learn from the past and make them improve in the future so that your weakness can be
strength for a long and successful run in the market. The entrepreneur in this report was bullied
for her skin tone but she came up with a business of her own for makeup and clothes because she
believed in herself and not what others had to say for her.
