The issue of emerging criminal activities was a good idea to discuss and security of individual
has become matter of concern in Houston’s campus these days (Rejda, (2011)). Here are
indentified few risks:
1. Assault: Medium impact, high frequency
Such can lead an individual to physical and mental issues which can be difficult for a student to
come over. Such activities have lead to absenteeism among students and created numerous minor
issues such as over-conscious parents, lack of credibility etc.
2. Robbery: Medium Frequency, High impact
This can lead to psychological problems or distress including anxiety, fear, depression etc. This
has terrified the students of Houston campus and imbalance their routines (Hoyt and Liebenberg,
(2011)).
3. Sexual Harassment: Medium Frequency and High Impact
Students are experiencing more condition of victimization in universities which has increased the
risk of assault and harassment in campus impacting lifetime mental distress.

Raising security concern for preventing criminal activities nearby neighborhood is essential for
reducing threats. Here are few risks:
1. Sexual Assault: Low frequency, medium impact
Assault or sexual assault victims might face depression, fear or trauma due to such events that
can influence their surroundings as well.
2. Criminal damage to property: Medium frequency, medium impact
Such action in city can lead to serious incidents and injuries among people and can harm mental
condition of victims of criminal activities. This can create major financial and physical loss to
individuals as well.
