The workplace project status report is a summarized document that precisely summarizes
all the details related to the progress of project in comparison to the Projected project plan. The
goal of this project status report is inform the stakeholders and managers and board of
management about the progress of project, to mitigate the issues before they arise and to ensure
that project will be finished within the mentioned timeline. The present workplace project status
report is on Mitsubishi motors Australia limited based in Australia (Chawla & Chawla, G.
(2018)). The name of the project is “Risk Management of Mitsubishi Motors”. The company is
the fully owned subsidiary of the Mitsubishi Motors Corporation of Japan.

The project is named as the “Risk Management of Mitsubishi Motors”. In the Automotive
sectors the technology is growing at fast face and with the adoption of new technology in the
manufacturing of new vehicles some risk are associated which are required to be managed
properly in order to avoid any disruption or harmful consequences in the implementation of new
vehicle. Mitsubishi Motors limited is also the car and vehicle manufacturer of Australia and is
working on new project of designing electric cars for the sustainable development of the
company in Australia (Shavaliev & Puryaev (2018, September)). This project of Mitsubishi

Project progress and performance
The project plays huge importance for the Mitsubishi Motors as the from many years the
company is the importer of vehicles from the Australia and to again manufacture the new electric
vehicle in Australia the company has huge scope of development. From the date project has
commenced it has been operating on full speed to meet the competitive race and to gain
competitive advantage. The project progress is as expected as the all the parts required for the
designing of the car are developed (Vaz, Rauen & Lezana, (2017)). The company has also
fulfilled all the necessary legal compliance and permissions under the AU legislation for smooth
manufacturing. The project is at last stage of its progress and has effectively met all the
scheduled dates of each stage. The performance of all the parts like engine, speakers, auto
driving technology, electric charging system,TV screen, automate opening gates etc. are tested
twice for the reconfirmation of their safety and smooth working. In mid stage the risk where
analysed related to the battery backup of engine which where mitigated by working on its engine
capabilities and batteries installed. Another risk was addressed related to automated gears and
gates as this may be risky in driving with kids as the automated doors may remain locked due to
technical issue. This risk was managed by installing both systems automated and manual gate
opening system. The designers of the Mitsubishi Motors have designed many models for the car
looking and is at the stage of verification from the top management of the company. For the
development of electric car the technology will play huge part for which IT experts has installed
all the technology in the functioning of the car and also has derived the codes to be installed at
the last stage of designing. The codes are executed multiple times to check their viability. The
performance of fuel- free engine is tested and verified and is working smooth and fast to meet
the speed of the other cars. All the essentials devices and parts of the cars are arranged at one
place and know are the end stage to where they are placed together in the form of well
functioned electric car. The overall performance of the project is outstanding as they are meeting
the objective of car within the time frame (Tonchia, Tonchia & Mahagaonkar. (2018)).

Issues – categorised
During the working of the project many issues where recognised by the Mitsubishi Motors as the
electric car is associated with high amount of risk. Some of the issues addressed during the
progress of the project are :
The issue of Budget was the major problem as developing a electric car is the high cost
investment and in between when budget was compared with expense it was analysed that
expenses are more than budget which was real issue of finances as this might increase the
cost of car (Costa & Silva, P. (2017)).
The another issue was the technical issue as the electric cars are completely technology
oriented and during rainy season there are the chances of technical glitches as battery
might work slow or speed of the car may suffer and even there can be issue in the engine.
The issue of model of car as the designers has come up with multiple designs and models
which has confused the upper management with the finalisation of the car model thereby
delaying the other operations in car manufacturing (Marodin & Fetterman, (2019)).
Budget status
The budget is the pre financial plan for the project to be executed within that limit in
order to earn profit and secure from getting loss. The budget status for this project bit high as
planned earlier because the raise in the prices of resources required for designing and
manufacturing of the electric car (Lee, (2018)). The budget of this project has different section
such as budget of input resources, budget of technology, overall operational budget, labour cost
etc. the budget status is demonstrated below:
Planned deliverables/activities
GANTT chart Review of risks
Weeks Risk
Week 1 Risk of meeting deadlines
Week 2 Operational management risk
Week 3 Engine failure risk
Week 4 Risk of technical glitch

Project and personal reflections
I have recognised that this project is successful and highly crucial project for the
Mitsubishi Motors company because there is huge trend and competition of electric car
manufacturing in Automotive industry. In order to gain sustainability in the race of competition
in Automotive manufacturing sector the project is very useful. I have gained multiple skills
during this project which is useful for my personal and professional development. Most

important skill which I have learned and developed during this project is the risk management
skills. I have received opportunity to manage different areas simultaneously during this project
which helped me in enhancing my management as well as time management skills. The project
has enhanced my in-depth knowledge about functioning and manufacturing of vehicles. I have
realized that manufacturing of electric car is very good for the environment no fuel gas will be
realized which indicates the good performance of this project for the environmental friendly
manufacturing of the automotive vehicle. I have also learned the budget planning skills during
this project as this was part of the project. The most essential skill which I have learned is risk
management skills this skill will help me during the uncertain circumstances of the personal and
professional life and also help me balancing my cation to manage the risk and to bring out
something productive and positive. The situation when I faced the failure in functioning of
engine I was panic as it was unplanned situation and the loss was heavy. But after the resolution
of the issue I learned the problem solving skills and also understand how to react in unplanned
situations. The project was highly useful to me in developing my overall workplace performance
and is also useful to me professional development. The whole project has scope of growth and
expansion in the Mitsubishi Motors and also this will help the company in gaining competitive
advantage and to reduce the environmental impact through electric cars. The project has foster
my analytical skills to analyse the risk and issue associated with the project thus the project has
enhanced my analytical skills as I have analysed my risks and issues occurred during the project
which here resolved effectively. Thus the project has developed my overall project management
skills.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it is concluded that workplace status project is highly essential for
the planning, controlling and appropriate execution of the project. It is concluded that with all the
projects in the automotive sector there is high risk of technical glitches and the financial
imbalance. Thus the risk management is the important part of the project success. The electric
car development project of Mitsubishi motors is matter of success and the this workplace status
project is useful to describe the performance and progress of the project at the company.
