AI Summary
This essay, written for an Introduction to Business Information Systems course, examines the risks associated with Artificial Intelligence (AI). It identifies autonomous weapons as a major threat, highlighting their potential for mass destruction and the difficulty in controlling them. The essay also discusses AI's inability to understand human emotions, leading to potentially dangerous scenarios where AI systems prioritize efficiency over safety. Furthermore, it explores the risks of social media manipulation and privacy breaches facilitated by AI, as well as communication failures in AI-driven systems. The essay emphasizes the importance of understanding these risks to mitigate potential negative impacts of AI in various sectors like transportation and manufacturing. The essay includes citations from academic sources to support its arguments.

Risk Associated with Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Some famous researchers and legendary physicist suggest that AI could potentially be very
dangerous for the people and for our human world. Elon Musk (who is the founder of Tesla
and Space X) compared the risk of AI with the dictator of North Korea (Marr, 2018).
However, there are many reasons behind this statement and some of the key issue are risk
associated with AI are as follow:
1. Autonomous Weapons: The autonomous weapons, which are based on artificial
intelligence system that are programmed to kill people are the major threats for the
whole world. If these weapons will be in the hand of a wrong person or in the hand of
terrorist groups, then it could easily cause a mass destruction or causalities. However,
use of AI in the war also causes mass causalities for the whole world. The other risk
associate with these AI weapons is that once they receive the command from the
person, it is really difficult to turn off the system to avoid causalities. Competition of
developing autonomous weapons among different countries is really a challenge and
threat for the whole world (Cunneen, Mullins, and Murphy, 2019).
2. AI do not have Feelings or Emotions: It is really difficult for the AI system to
identify the emotions or thought of the people. The AI system does not understand the
feelings of people. For example, if a person command a car to drive the car fast so the
person can reach the airport at the right time (Marr, 2018). The AI can obey the
command as the obedient system and take the person to the airport as fast as possible.
It means the car avoid the consequences of speed driving and avoid the risk which is
associated with fast car driving. It is really a serious risk associated with the AI
systems (Marr, 2018).
3. Social Media Manipulation and Privacy Breach: One of the great risks which is
associated with AI is that it can easily do the social media manipulation work. The AI
knows who we are, what type of thing a particular person like, and even it can predict
on our prior acts or performance that for what we are looking for on internet sites. The
major companies utilises the AI system to collect information about the users and they
designed their services according to the user past activity and searches. AI is used by
many modern tech companies to retrieve and theft of personal information of people.
Google is known for this type of activities on its search engine (Scherer, 2015).

4. Communication Failure: Another major risk associate with AI is related to
communication between people and AI. This type of risks are generally associated in
transportation, manufacturing, and infrastructure systems where AI fail to respond
properly to the user of the system and fail to comply the command in proper way. If
the system is working slowly or the attention of user diverse somewhere else, then the
possibly of accidents and injuries will be increased with the heavy machines and
equipment (Marr, 2018).
