Topic 1: Rite of Passage
In life, various events influence the approach and perception of an individual socially and
personally. I remember one significant event of my life as I have become the father of my first
child that has to lead to many changes in my emotional, mental and physical attitude. It was an
important milestone in my life that has increased my responsibilities towards my wife and family
as I have become more sensitive and emotionally attached with them. After this event, I have
found many changes in my perception as I become calmer and composed in understanding the
needs of my child and wife (Fogelin, and Michael, 815-827). I am also learning to control the
emotions and anger. However, it was difficult to understand the approach of the newborn baby,
but I can see that I am anticipating his approach.
This is a life-cycle ceremony that found in every society. According to Christian
Sacrament of baptism the role of a father also involves thanksgiving to his child’s mother and
taking care of their medical, emotional and physical needs. Apart from that, childbirth was a big
event for my family as my parents were happy to see my first child. Their emotions and feelings
have made me realize the attachment of parents with the child (Beudaert, Nil, and Meltem, 57-
64). The role that I have to play now as father involves appropriate physical and mental
development of the baby.

Topic 2: Social Roles
In life, every individual plays different roles such as son, employee, and brother. The
purpose of an individual in these phases is changed according to responsibilities and authority.
As a son, my role is to maintain the behavior and cultural approach that thought by my parents
and show gratitude towards them to provide me all facility to enjoy and understand the life. Now,
it is my responsibility to fulfill their needs and follow the values and achieve the high standards
in life to make them proud (Lynton, 35-43). The primary role as a son includes the consideration
of opinion of my parents in making the decision related to life events. In addition to this, the role
of a son includes the implementation of the family principle and makes the plan accordingly.
My role as an employee is critical as I have to make adjustments in my behavior and
attitude to make compliance with the rules and regulations of the company. The key roles of
mine as an employee are meeting the KPI’s and contribution in the growth of the organization.
This role is vital for me as it gives me the opportunity to earn and maintain a good lifestyle. I am
expecting to gain a higher position within the company through achieving proposed targets of
company. Apart from that, this is helping me to make balance and personal and professional life
(Burrell, and Gareth, 12).
Being an elder brother, my role is to guide my brother and share my experience of life
and study that is helping him in managing the things. I always try to keep him positive and
motivate to get better in every aspect. I take pride in doing this role as it gives me a chance to
evaluate myself and provide proper direction to my brother.
