The multinational corporations are always eager to develop its operational branches in
several emerging countries for enhancing their sales margin, brand value and
profitability. The operations of the multinational corporations create an impact on the
social, environment and economy of the host country. This study focuses on the
creation of a project management plan by determining the project objective, aim, cost,
quality, communication, risks, resources and time. The work breakdown structure that is
described in this study also focuses on determining the time frames that is required for
the completing the various stages of the project. This study also focuses on the small-
scale research method that is conducted on River Island for depicting its effect on New
Zealand.
Background of the company
River Island is one of the biggest fashion brands in UK that operates in the global
market with around 370 stores worldwide. Bernard Lewis and his brothers (Limited,
2019) established it in the year 1948. This company offers products like footwear,
children clothing, men’s wear, women’s wear and various other accessories. The net
income of the company is around 944 million pounds and has around more than 72,000
employees.

New Zealand is one of the wealthy Pacific nation that have two cultural groups
