INTRODUCTION
Events management is an essential aspect that is present in every event. It is
aimed at making sure that all people who attend the event are treated well. However,
the concept of events management is broad, and it entails many activities than only
availing the equipment and inviting people. There are legal concerns that must be
focused on with the aim of making sure that the planners do not collide with the law.
The event that will be focused on in this case is Vietnam National Day that took place in
September. The event is critical to the people of Vietnam, and this is because it is a day
that the people of Vietnam come together to celebrate the day that the nation got its
independence. However, when it came to the planning and managing of the event, most
of the activities were similar with normal and regular events in the country. The
significance of the event is seen in its history. Vietnam is a nation that is independent,
and it gained its freedom in 1945. The event that is being focused on is a
commemoration of the independence of Vietnam. The Vietnam National Days take
place every year, and its official date is the second. The main activities that take place
in the event are entertainments and celebrations. At the same time, the people of
Vietnam get to hear from some of their highest ranked leaders, and this is because the
event is significant to the people of Vietnam.
The value that the event has on people is associated with the history of the
people of Vietnam. The event comes in place to remind them of the struggles that they
went through for them to gain the freedom that they enjoy today. At the same time, the
event helps in updating the citizens on the progress that the nation has made since it
gained independence (Van der Wagen and White, 2018). When it comes to matters of
logistics and equipment, the government gives contracts to the company in the private
sector where they make sure that they avail everything that is needed. When it comes
to legal matters, the managers of the event evade the legal burdens, and this is
because the grounds are provided by the government, and therefore the government
takes care of everything. In other events, the security is a risk that has to be assumed
by the manager of the event. The Vietnam National Day is an important day to the
whole nation and considering that it is a national event it touches on the life of every

Vietnamese. The government assumes all responsibilities of making the residents safe.
Despite the fact that the event was a national event, it did not eliminate the hospitality
industry from the list of the beneficiaries. The reason behind it is because there were
caterers who were given the job to make sure that the high table has everything and
that included decorations and water. The event was an indication that the events
management industry is growing by a huge percentage and the demand is likely to
increase in the future.
SECONDARY RESEARCH
Different researchers have come up with findings that focus on the aspect of
event management. Kavanagh, Rochford, and Bussa (2015) state that events
management has been growing over the last years and this is due to the fact that many
people have seen the need to have professional event managers. A few decades ago,
events were managed in a less professional way. This means that if a family needed to
host an event, it would opt to have all the operations carried out by the family members.
However, this has since changed, and most of the people who want to host events are
seeking the services professional event organizers (Awad, Lewandowski, and Decker
EVENTBRITE Inc, 2017). However, there are different aspects of event management
that are essential and significant to all event managers. The first aspect is associated
with the safety of the event (Ferdinand and Kitchin, 2012). The safety of an event
depends on the size and nature of the event. When an event is private, it is not as
exposed to risks as the public is. In this respect, it means that the manager is supposed
to make sure that safety is well taken care of.
In managing events, it is imperative to understand that the management of
events is not centralized to one location (Jones, 2017). Therefore, the aspect of logistics
comes in place. The reason behind it is because the resources that are supposed to be
utilized in the event have to be availed at the location of need. In this respect, it means
that different measures have to be considered. The first measure is to make sure that
time is observed (Lotem, Cohen, and Naon, Skybox Security Inc, 2016). The equipment
and facilities that are supposed to be used in an event must be in place at the time that
they are needed. Failure to doing so, the event might not be as colorful as it is needed

or it might not meet the needs of the customers. The second measure is associated with
the condition of the facilities (Parent and Chappelet, 2017). A good example can be
seen in the case of the Vietnam National Day. If there was a flaw in logistics, it is
possible that the public address equipment would not have reached the site in its best
condition and this would mean that the event would not be as colorful as it needed to
be.
Event planning is the most crucial aspect, and this is because of the effects of a
good event planning strategy. When an event is well-planned, it meets the needs of the
hosts, and that means that the satisfaction level is taken high. Different factors must be
considered when planning events (Kavanagh, Rochford, and Bussa, 2015). One of the
factors is the nature of the event. Knowing the nature of the event helps the planners to
know the exact resources that they will put in the event as well as the possible time that
the event is likely to take (Masterman, 2014). Good planning makes sure that there is
nothing that is left behind and every detail is included.
EVENT MANAGEMENT PROPOSAL
The event proposal that will be used in the case is the award ceremony. In award
ceremonies, different discoveries have been made. The first discovery is associated
with the innovations that are present in the technology industry. Unlike a few decades
ago, the planners of the modern day award ceremonies make sure that there is more
than only the venue and the required resources (Jepson and Ryan, 2018). The
introduction of entertainment and other features like decorations and screens has seen
the awards ceremonies in many parts of the world become lively and attractive to the
people who avail themselves in such events. The demand for media that helps in
capturing the events that take place has been high, and the event planners have come
in handy to meet the demand (Raj, Walters, and Rashid, 2017). It is for this reason that
most of the event planners are budgeting for equipment that is advanced and helpful to
the people that need it. A good example is seen in the case of led screens that capture
the entire event and immediately transmit the images of what is taking place at the
event to the people who might be close enough to the podium.

FUTURE DEMANDS
Vietnam is a nation that is growing, and it is also receiving tourists at an
increasing rate. This has impacted the demand for event management, and it has seen
the demand increase. Despite the fact that the tourism industry is growing, the event
planners in Vietnam have a long way to go in meeting this demand (Ryan, 2016). The
industry has experienced growth but the demand has not been fully met, and that
means that the industry has a lot to do to make sure that Vietnam meets the high
demand. Tourists have been flocking in the nation, and that means that there is a high
demand that ought to be met by the local industry.
CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
It is no doubt that the event management industry in Vietnam is growing. The
sign that the industry is growing is seen in how the institutions have trusted the event
management companies with their events. However, there is an area that the event
planners in the country need to look into. Vietnam is one of the places that have some
of the best physical features, and this area has not been fully exploited. Hikes, camping,
and nature events have not been fully explored despite that fact that Vietnam is in the
best position to hold such events. The nation has the capability to attract international
tourists, and this means that there is much that needs to be done. The best people who
are in the right position to make these significant changes are the planners of the events
in the country. They need to make sure that every demand that rises in the industry is
met as soon as it is noticed.
