Introduction
A live webinar took place on 12 February 2020 from 9 AM to 12 PM that included all
the important topics discussed in module 1. This webinar was used for expanded the
knowledge base of the learners and offer an in-depth evaluation of each of the topic that
elevated the experience. The speaker of the webinar was Andrea Stubbs, Project Lead-Best
Practice Champions Network and Nursing Manager, the Registered Nurse’s Association of
Ontario RNAO. The attendees include the enrolled students of the course who had completed
module 1 of the particular unit.
Summary of webinar
The issues that formed the major topic of discussion in the webinar were the person
and family centred care, the best practice and clinical preparedness permit. These are stated to
be some of the most critical issues that required in-depth evaluation and understanding in the
nursing perspective that allow in association with the professional nursing context. For
applying consistency care process in practice, it is crucial that clear, lucid and scientific
knowledge needs to be attained. The concept of person- and family-centred care involve a
number of terms, definitions and elements that is stated to be a practice-theory of care.
However, it can be noted that the on-going theory and practice involves a gap that involves a
number of challenges in the implementation of care at all level of the healthcare system
(Rnao.ca, 2015). It seems to be important to establish a therapeutic relationship among
patient, family, healthcare professionals and others by attributing the process of care delivery.
This help in understanding the existing issues applied in the healthcare setting and
envisioning the ethical perspective that helps in offering appropriate care services to the
client, consumer, users, person or individual as referred by the system. The second topic was
best practice guidelines developed by RNAO, which is stated to be a comprehensive manual

of resources that is based on theory, experience and research. In addition, it also includes
practical processes, tools and strategies that are used by the clinicians and other healthcare
professionals for initiating as well as sustaining the changes in the healthcare as well as
appropriately supporting delivery of care. In most of the cases, this is not taken into
consideration while offering care to patients that result in various issues. Thus, the speaker
demonstrated the issues associated as well as highlighted the importance of using it in the
nursing practice (Rnao.ca, 2012). Another important topic that has been addressed in this
webinar was the clinical preparedness permit that allows the students to meet the requirement
of nursing practice prior to entering the clinical placements.
Conclusion
It can be concluded by stating that the webinar was helpful and knowledge enriching
session that highlighted various issues that occur in the nursing professions as well as stated
the solutions that can be applied to resolve them. The speaker had stated that it is critical for
the attendee to understanding its significance and apply it while practising that will offer
them to enhance their nursing practice. This had contributed to my understanding of
professional and nursing as it broadened the scope of knowledge and helped me in gaining
information related to various elements with respect to nursing practice and quality of care
from the webinar.
