Introduction
• A multimodal project is one in which different
models for communicating a message are
used.
• This presentation examines the influence of
government and unofficial censorship on the
control and consumption of the popular
culture under consideration, namely Rock
Music.

Description of popular culture
• Rock music is a vast type of popular music that
began in the United Kingdom in the 1940s and
early 1950s as rock and doll.
• It drew from blues and rhythm and blues genres
from African American music, as well as country
music, to grow into diverse forms in the United
States and the United Kingdom.

Impact of official and unofficial censorship
• Prohibition of speech, public communication, and other functions are all examples of censorship.
• It can be done with disagreeable, sensitive, inconvenient, damaging, and other types of material.
• It can be carried out by the government, regulatory authorities, and commercial institutions.
• Although the government and corporate organizations may be involved in censorship, other groups may
want restrictions for a variety of reasons.
• Music censorship is a practice that seeks to reduce the exposure of several sensitive themes such as
drugs, and various challenges to social standards.

Secondary research
• According to Annemette Kirkegaard and Jonas Otterbeck,
(2017), music tends to be continually censored by states,
actors, religious leaders, and even the artist themselves.
• The term censorship is considered to be very common in
autocratic societies or even the regional societies wherein

• From the considerations of the literature presented, it can
be analyzed that selected popular culture i.e., Rock
Music is impacted through official and unofficial
censorship with regards to control and consumption.
• It can be said that Rock Music can be impacted through
both official and unofficial censorship with regard to
their relative consumption.

• From the above-mentioned project report, it can be concluded that multimodal projects are
significant since they provide several methods for communicating a message.
• It is crucial for a variety of reasons because it allows individuals to engage and learn more
effectively.
