INTRODUCTION
Every organization has different departments for execution of its different function.
Every organization has a different department or sections to perform different task. This report
presents roles of different functions of the organization and the importance of all these functions
working together.
MAIN BODY
Role of different functional units
There are several roles played by different functions of organization, a detailed
description is given below.
Marketing
Marketing plays an important role in establishing a good relationship between
organization and the customers (Todor, 2016). The marketing team is also tasked with the
promotion of the product and service of the organization, branding of the organization,
participating in several marketing activities, interacting with the customers and collecting proper
feedback.
Finance
The role of finance team is to meet with the financial needs of the organization. It is
responsible for acquiring and managing funds for the business growth. It is also responsible for
planning the budget for the different departments for a particular period. It helps organization in
taking decisions regarding whether to invest in a particular project or not.
Operation
The operation department is responsible for making sure that customers orders are filled
on schedule (Hudson, 2017). The production system is working properly, efficiency is achieved.
Also, timely delivery of products to the specific customer and availability of required material
for further production. It also makes sure whether proper stock of product is maintained to meet
the future demand.
Human Resource
The human resource department is responsible for hiring and training personnels (Susarla
and Karimi, 2018). Their main role is recruitment, interviewing, providing training and
development to employees, handling employee relation, coordinating with other departments,

taking care of payroll etc. Human resource also has the responsibility to contact other department
and create job description to hire a personnel with the specific requirement.
Importance of functions working together
All these different functions of an organization plays an important role in an organization.
Each and every department requires to be properly coordinated as each functional unit is
interdependent on each other (French and Gordon, 2019). For example, marketing department
needs to work in coordination with finance department as finance department will assign budget
to marketing department to carry out its activities. Also, marketing department provides
complete details about the new product or advertisement campaign for which budget is requires
along with compete cost analysis (Sikora and et.al., 2016). Another example is marketing and
production department, where marketing team after conducting complete market analysis and
research provides information to production department about the new product and then
production team designs the production process for the development of new product.
CONCLUSION
From the above it can be said that there are multiple roles of the different functional units
of an organization and each role has its own advantages that cannot be denied. Whether the
organizations is small or large these functions are required to be carried out as it will help in the
growth and survival of the organization.
