Introduction
Analysis associated with business related terms and issues is basically a role of understanding
the necessities of changes in business, assessment of the impact of those changes, analysing
as well as capturing various requirements for documentation and further supporting means of
communication as well as delivering important requirements to the stakeholders. According
to the case study Jack is basically pursuing Bachelors in the field of Information Technology
and has dreamt of building his career in the field of Business Analysis. Since he has been
facing several challenges of adopting the role, therefore he has approached me since I am
working in that position for me to mentor him so that he can be successful in reaching his
goal. The current report discusses about various responsibilities of being Business Analyst,
competencies as well as discusses about stakeholders who would be a part of this business
process.
Discussion
1. Definition of Business Analyst
Business Analyst can be defined as a person who makes detail analysis of a particular
organization in the domain of business organization and therefore makes a documentation of
various business processes, plays a leading role in assessment of business frameworks and
helps in further integration with various technologies (Rosemann and vom Brocke, 2015).
This position provides authority to a single person so that he or she can guide the business
organization towards improving various processes, several products and software products in
the form of analysis of data.
2. Various responsibilities of that of Business Analyst
There are four different types of roles in the Business Analyst position:

Business Developer- A person holding this responsibility helps in identification of
necessities as well as opportunities associated with business (Branco et al. 2014).
Analyser of various Business Models- A person holding this position makes an
organization aware of its policies as well certain approaches towards capturing market
Process based design- A person has the responsibility to help an organization achieve a
standardized position through controlling its workflows
Analyser of technical systems- The person has a capability to interpret various business
regulations and try to achieve a connection between clients as well as IT department.
If Jack wants to take a role in this position then he has to be a part of the organization that is
associated with business processes and establish a good connection with members of
department of Information Technology. He has to play an important role in helping to
improve various qualities of delivered services, assists towards integration as well as
understanding various new solutions. He shall work as an intermediate between management
departments as well as developers who are actively involved in building the IT infrastructure.
In addition, they play certain roles like constructing various models on data, creating
flowcharts and help to solve any critical case associated with business like risks related to
with shareholders in the market and return benefits (Jizi et al. 2014).
3. Challenges faced in the position of Business Analyst Competencies based on Relationship
Business Analyst has to face tough competition in terms of establishing good relationship
with stakeholders as they help in contribution towards project undertaken by the members
of technical team in the Company. Challenges are mainly faced during establishment of
trust with those stakeholders and help the organization to take a step towards achievement
of success.

Competencies associated with leadership skills
Business Analysis can take a challenging role in the leadership development of helping to
set up various requirements of projects, establish good connection with Project manager.
He takes part in leading as well as managing various changes that will help to determine
various schedules of project activities and communicate necessary findings.
Competencies in association with communication
They face competition in terms of skills associated with oral as well as written
communication. Business Analysts may also find several challenges towards facilitation
skills and in terms of interpersonal skills.
Competencies based on skills associated with business as well as analytical skills
Business Analyst might face challenge with respect to manufacturing of analytical skills
as well as visualization of data processes for the organization. He has to possess good
knowledge towards Business Intelligence and Data Analytics on Warehousing in order to
achieve a level of sustainability in the competition market.
4. Definition of BACCM
The full form of BACCM is Business Analysis Core Concept Model basically discusses on
the structure associated with analysis of business. This analysis talks of practice in order to
endure changes that take place in enterprise through definition of necessities and helps to give
further recommendation to solutions therefore providing necessary value of business to the
stakeholders.
5. Brief overview on stakeholders associated with business
Stakeholders are defined as parties who have their interests associated with a particular
company and any kind of situational change within the organization shall have a great deal of

impact up on them. Primarily an organization in association with its stakeholders are mainly

stakeholders do not share any form of direct relationship hence they get affected due to either
actions or outcomes of a particular business. Various public groups, suppliers as well as
creditors fall in the group of external stakeholders.
6. Analysis on the basis of stakeholders
Westfarmers is chosen as the organization that has its main headquarters in Australia and has
main interests over chemicals, various fertilisers as well as coal mining in the regions of
Australia as well as New Zealand (Gagalyuk, 2017). Here two stakeholders are taken to be
