Back ground.
Hospitality industry is working from a long time in satisfying the customer needs and
wants in the market. They are providing the best services in the industry to make sure that they
are fulfilling the customer needs and wants (Jiang and Wen, 2020). To provide the sustainability
towards the environment the hospitality industry have made several changes over the years, and
they are developing new ways in improving the sustainability practices in the industry. Covid-19
is creating a lot of issues and the pandemic have affected the hospitality industry in the worst
ways as the lock down caused the industry zero earning and the causes of loss of jobs and lack of

customers in the industry. The sustainability is important in the working of the hospitality
industry. They need to make sure that they develop new strategies to increase the awareness
about the sustainability programme the industry is making to make sure that they are preserving
the resources. Covid-19 impacted their customer and the industry are working in new ways
including the green ways services and reducing the wastage of resources and the operation
management and strategies of the business (Jones and Comfort, 2020).
Research problem.
Covid-19 is one of the major problem in the market which have impacted a lot of industry
and the hospitality industry is being affected the most. The sustainability and the working in the
operation of the hospitality have impacted due to the pandemic and the changes in the strategies
to increase the working of the organizations. Industry are facing a lot of problems as they are not
able to utilize the full resources, and they are not able to allow all the customer as they are
restricted to follow the government laws (Sobaih and et.al., 2021). There are issues in the
working of the hospitality industry and the topic is explaining the entire detail about the issues
which the hospitality industry have faced due to the pandemic.
Organization Background
Rosewood Hotel is a 5 start hotel located in London, UK. The hotel opened in 2000 and
is now managed by the Marriott international below their Renaissance Hotel brand name as
Renaissance Chancery Court. Rosewood Hotel are following the sustainability programme
including the safety of water resources and utilization of the green products (Vidhya and Selvam,
2020).
CHAPTER TWO : LITERATURE REVIEW
Theme 1 – Concept of sustainable operation and management strategies
According to the de Sousa Jabbour (2018), it is being stated that Sustainable operation
strategy and management strategies concern with the processes, procedure, system and practices
which are being employed by the company in relation with wider inter organizational structure.
It is by the means of creating, initiating and delivering with the outputs which are being
profitable from the perspective of business while accounting to use the resources that are being
in concern with that of the environment. It is being stated by the Kot (2019), that there are

various management strategies which are taken in consideration by the company to increase with
sale revenue and profitability margins of the company. The commitment to sustainability needs
to begin with organization top management and needs to be implemented in the mission, vision
and operation of the company. It implies with providing valuable insights for exploring the
nature of straitening. This will helps the company in targeting the right customer base and with
delivering of message of what needs to be communicated to them.
Theme 2- Impact of COVID -19 on sustainable operation
As per the view of the Kumar (2021), there is huge impact of current pandemic on
management strategies and sustainable operation. It has led with complete redesigning of
company policies and procedure as a result to get customer attract towards the services of the
company which in past months have gone down and has affected with massive hit on the
customer base which as result affect the company in term of monetary position. It has led with
company to have increase expenditure on getting the customer to experience the services. In
simple words it has affected in manner where it has lead with means of discontinuation of
business operation and as a result has lead to the loss of job opportunity for individual employed
in the company. The author has stated that it has impacted in the manner where huge investment
needs to be ensured to regain the trust and loyalty of the customer as they fear to avail the
services of organization. However the Machado (2017), has stated that if management operation
and strategies are being not redefined in taking into consideration the current situation of
pandemic , then it might have resulted in the situation where the business will not be existing any
more and thus will lead to competitors overtaking company operations.
CHAPTER THREE : RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research Methodology refer to the process and the procedure of the techniques the
researcher used or include in the findings, identification, select, process and the analysis of the
given topic. It helps the reader in better understanding and also critically evaluate the study of
topic and its reliability and validity of the research.

research to provide a better understanding of the research on topic. The researcher has chosen
simple random sampling to increase the reliability and the validity of the research on the given
topic. It helps the researcher in finding the random information about the impact of covid on the
sustainability of the hospital industry in their strategies and operational management.
Limitation
Researcher limitation refer to the process of providing the information in the given
limited resources and time to the researcher. The researcher has provided the proper data and
reliable data from the research to increase the efficiency of the research on the impact of covid-
19 on the sustainability of the hospitality industry. Researcher has done the research in the given
limited time period and the resources which are provided to the researcher to complete the
research. The reliability of the research is that the research data are from the primary source of
data collection and the validity of the secondary research are from five-year record (Silva, 2017).

Ethical consideration refer to the process in which the researcher provided the
information in the research with reliability and validity. The ethical consideration form is being

Interpretation- From the given pie chart analysis it has been found that out of 20 respondent 10
are strongly agree regarding covid 19 has changed the overall process of offering services to
customers as earlier there were no sanitizers and mask before entering to the hotel but after that
these things are mandatory. Also hotel rooms are well sanitised as well as maintain at least 1
metre distance from staff as well as other guests. Besides that, changes are also applied in
offering of catering and eating facilities. Out of 20, 5 agree that things are changing after covid
19. While out of 20 , 2 are disagree while at the same time 2 are strongly agree regarding
change. They said that overall process has not changed in it.

Interpretation- From the above analysis of pie chart it has been found that out of 20 respondent
there are 10 respondent who are agree on change in procedure or quality of services offered to
guests. There is change in services as earlier consumer were not necessarily book the hotel room
online but after the Covid they are booking online on hotel websites. Also the housekeeping
services are change as now they are also being provided through booking on website moreover al
healthy and safety measurement are taken in providing services besides that new policies and
guidelines are form through which services are being provided. Out of 20 there are 5 respondent
who are disagree regarding change in procedure while 6 are not sure regarding any change
within procedure.
