INTRODUCTION
In order to determine the effective set of measures within the organization, the term project
management serves as an important term in providing the best set of services according to the
requirement of the project. This assignment includes a wide range of activities which plays a vital role in
implementing the successful project tasks which include the set of elements such as cost, schedule, and
quality determined within the project, in which the London Skills Concern registered as the new and
young organization in sector od charity and trade operating in the public and private sector provides the
guidance and support to the people searching for the work (Artto et al., 2016), along with this LSC also
organizes the set of programs in schools with the aim to guide the children in terms of opting their
career to the children and provides the programs for the young people who does not have the proper
education and training certificate of NEET, with the motive to work together with the local people which
are required to report the total number of NEET people to Central Government, which therefore
includes the relevant reporting and gathering of information.
The LSC has the budget of €8m along with the support provided by the well-wishers and London Donors,
with having the number of revenue streams operating mostly in the area where unemployment in terms
of youth serves as the big cause of worry defined mainly in inner London areas (Defusco et al., 2017).

TASK 1
1. Key characteristics of any project
The main characteristics of the project include the combination of four major terms which includes
scope, risk, time, quality and resources of the project.
1. Scope: it defines the entire set of the topic includes within the project
2. Risk: It involves the barriers which may occur during the successful implementation of
procedures defined.
3. Time: It describes the total duration of time required for the successful completion of the
project.
4. Quality: It includes the procedures applied in order to achieve the standard requirements of the
project.
5. Resources: It includes the collection of various materials and procedures which serve beneficial
to meet the demands of the project (Hillson, 2017).
2. Five stages of Project Management
. The main five stages in Project Management are:
1. Initiation: It serves as the initial stage in the project management, which deals with the
measuring of feasibility and value of the project which involves the two type of documents
named as Business Case Document which satisfies the financial requirements of the project and
feasibility study which includes implementation of the project goals as that involved in LSC.
2. Plan: After determining the initial phase of the project, planning of the project serves essential
which guides the project team in implementing the project which includes the cost, timeframe,
and scope of the project.
3. Execution: It includes the set of procedures dealing with the aim to provide the successful
delivery of products and services with the aim to satisfy the demands of the customers defined
by the team leaders, where the planning serves as the base for achieving the effective execution
of tasks.
4. Control and Monitoring: They are defined in combined form as both can occur at the same time
or project execution, were to provide the satisfactory delivery of services and products to the

customers regular monitoring of the project is provided with the aim to evaluate the
development of the project.
5. Closure: It serves as the final stage defined in project management, which involves the
communication done with the stakeholders regarding the completion of tasks (Cleden, 2017).
3. Purpose of Project Initiation Document (PID), along with three items
As per the project initiation document, project is defined as the combination of various set of tasks
involved with an aim to create the new product or service in an existing organization, where the initial
implementation of the project mainly includes the definition of the project along with the namely
temporary, where the term temporary means to provide the specialized end and beginning of the
project which serves effective to achieve the accurate implementation of the set of procedures defined
in the project. The three main items of the Project Initiation Document are:
1. Documents: It includes the set of the legal references in order to provides the collection of the
important documents defined to start the project plan, which involves the detailed study of
business case defined in accordance with the organization including the detailed version of the
project tasks in the form of project brief, which is used to monitor the progress of the project
along with requirements of the project (Cha et al., 2018).
2. Composition: It involves the collection of various elements such as dealing with the goals of
project, organization or the project, stakeholders of the project and time frame to assure the
effective delivery of the project.
3. Goal and Approval: After the initialization of the project, the goals are defined in order to meet
the demands of the people defined in written form along with the scope of the project.
Approval is served to be the last writing phase involved in the project initiation document
approved by the HR department and the financial department of the company (Winter and
Szczepanek, 2017).
4. List the nine (9) knowledge areas in Project Management and briefly
explain the importance of any two of them.
The nine knowledge areas in project management are:
1. Scope Management: It includes the statements of work, requirement analysis, work breakdown
structures, scope verification of the techniques along with the scope change controls, which

serves important in terms of determining the effective way of implementing the set of
procedures according to the defined scope.
2. HR Management: It includes the set of techniques related to providing motivation and
responsibilities towards the team members, which includes resource histograms, charts related
to project organization along with the exercises to make the effective team building, it serves
important with the aim to achieve the successful completion of tasks along with the timely
delivery of the products by motivating the employees to work with full determination within the
company (Whyte et al., 2016).
3. Cost Management: In includes payback analyses, cost management, etc.
4. Quality Management: In includes Pareto diagrams, maturity models etc.
5. Integration Management: It includes methods in relation to the project selection.
6. Time Management: It includes schedule performance management.
7. Procurement Management: It includes source selections, supplier evaluation matrices etc.
8. Communication Management: It includes kick-off meetings, templates, project websites, etc.
9. Risk Management: It includes plans related to risk management (Vanclay et al., 2015).
5. List five attributes or characteristics of a project Manager and briefly

The five attributes of the project manager are:
1. Ability to delegate and organize: In order to achieve the successful implementation plans related
to the project, the project manager must have the ability to distribute the set of services among
the members in an efficient way, which contributes in the faster and effective development of
the project.
2. Wits and flexibility: The set of procedures defined in the project must be made flexible which
serves beneficial in overcoming the upcoming barriers in the project implementation, without
affecting the profit generation capability of an organization (Carnall, 2018).
3. Ability to maintain Balance Logic with Creativity, where the manager must be able to provide
the balance between creative ideas and logic defined over the project.
4. Ability to communicate the set of tasks effectively to the members, with the aim to provide a
clear view to members in terms of project implementation.

5. Ability to apply the best leadership style according to the demands of the project, in order to
generate the maximum profit in terms of successful completion of the project (Jordan and Lloyd,
2017).
6. Who is a stakeholder? Briefly explain the purpose of stakeholder analysis
and why it is important in Project Management.
A stakeholder is defined as an individual or group of the people which may affect or may get affected by
the set of decision-making strategies and activities involved in the development of the project.
The purpose of stakeholder analysis is:
1. It helps in identifying the potential issues leading to the disruption in project
2. It identifies the communication planning and strategies related to stakeholder management in
the phase of project planning
3. It identifies the ways to decrease the negative impacts of potential on the stakeholders
4. It identifies the information in terms of the demands of the people.
5. It identifies the active participation of the groups towards the project plan (Haynes, 2015).
The importance of Stakeholder analysis is:
1. It provides a set of opportunities for the individual to express their ideas towards the
project.
2. It reduces the causes of risks defined within the project.
3. It provides an excellent learning opportunity in terms of stakeholders and project members
4. It enhances the responsibility and accountability
5. It leads to the successful completion of the project (Thomas, 2017).

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This report deals with the detailed analysis done on an organization named as London Skills Concern
(LSC) which is the newly established organization which serves the people in sectors of charity and
trading operating in the private and public sectors in order to provide the guidance to young people
looking for employment, the organization also aims to provide the effective programs in schools and
inner areas of London, where the phases of the project development lifecycle has been includes in order
to control and monitor the progress of the project, where the risk management factors, work
breakdown structure, network diagrams are included to assure timely delivery of project, with budget of
€8m and it has support from the well-wisher’s and London donors (Haynes, 2015).
The revenue streams which mostly operates over the inner area of the London where the major cause
of worry servers to be the problem of unemployment within the young and the primary people. In the
report majority of the actions are taken by the local council departments of education, in which the
brand named as Connexions was created along with the mixture of the private sector and in-house
provision with the mixture of social enterprises and private companies providing the majority of services
in the similar sector. Along with this the LSC has formed an initiative taken by Evening standard and
combination of local authorities dealing with the inner sectors of the society, which was mainly defined
as the duty of the local authority, which has been continuing within the sectors of projects and contracts
to assure that the operations performed on the company serves for a longer time period, where the
completion of the task will be done in 18 months' time period (Thomas, 2017).

company with the aim to establish the various important factors which are needed in the
successful implementation of the project which also serves effective in defining the set of
financial concern defined during the completion of the project which serve3s helpful in creating
the set of features according to the demand of the project along with the effective set of
implementation techniques (Winch and Leiringer, 2016).
2. Project Planning: After determining the initial phase of the project, planning of the project
serves essential which guides the project team in implementing the project which includes the
cost, timeframe, and scope of the project in terms of the technology being implemented. It
ensures that the set of features being defined during the initialization of teh4 project serves to
be effective in the entire project development or not. It includes the combination of te4h
various set of elements defined as:
Smart: It includes the set of questions such as how, where, why. Which, when related to the
implementation of the project, which clearly defines the reason behind the implementation of
the project.
Measurable: It includes the set of measures related to the implementation of the project which
aims to achieve the successful implementation of the target defined in the project.
Attainable: It focuses on the set of elements which found to be the most relevant part of the
project.
Realistic: It aims to provide the set of measure related to the real-time activities defined within
the project.

interval defined during the implementation of the project (Hobbs et al., 2016).
3. Project Execution: It includes the set of procedures dealing with the aim to provide the
successful delivery of products and services with the aim to satisfy the demands of the
customers defined by the team leaders, where the planning serves as the base for achieving the
effective execution of tasks, which includes the set of activities defined as:

4. Project Control and Monitoring: They are defined in combined form as both can occur at the

 Defining the objective of the project: This defines the set of the values whether or if the
project has been defined under the specified budget and the objectives to meet the
requirements of the stakeholders (Hobbs et al., 2016).
 Delivering the quality of services to the customers: It aims to provide the quality of
services defining the accuracy of the project along with the specified delivery of tasks.
 Defining the cost tracking and the efforts defined over the project: It aims to track the
implementation of the various set of procedures defining the completion of the project
on the basis of the current project performance.
 Measuring the performance of the project in terms of the real-time intervals, it
considers the set of barriers and issues which aims to decrease the performance of the
project with the aim to find the best suitable solutions with reference to the upcoming
