MAIN BODY
Russia Ukraine war and its impact on business in United Kingdom
As per the view of Orhan, 2022, war is the destruction of peace and it destroys the social
and economic condition of a country or more. War is considered as major act, which is executed
in order to resolve a dispute which gets stuck due to unavoidable consequences. Peace is the
important need of humanity and its completely destructed by war. Since the origin of humanity,
several wars have been declared and fought. This resulted into serious concerns for the whole
world and the world decided to form certain organisations in order to control war. In order to
control war, there are many authorities which are formulated like Geneva convention, United
Nations Security council, Nuclear proliferation Treaty and NATO. Even in the presence of these
organisations, wars between countries are taking place. Due to the presence of information and
technology, countries develop nuclear and atomic weapons which are very dangerous for whole
mankind. A single press of button can lead to destroy a huge country in seconds. As stated by
Sukhankin, 2019, the economy of United Kingdom along with many countries is deeply
impacted from the war between Ukraine and Russia. Controlling war is the best way to get rid of
it and also negotiations between countries can resolve the same. As stated by O'Connell, 2017,
earlier before 1900s, wars were less harmful due presence of traditional weapons like sword and
shields. Nowadays, wars are considered as hell due to presence of modern technology based
tools and techniques. It is most essential role of countries to promote peace and stability rather
than giving rise to wars.
According to Mandeng, 2022, war between Russia and Ukraine took place and is still on
going. This is a major war which resulted into huge loss for these two countries as well as for the
whole world. This war made economies of both the countries suffer from economic and social
loss which could be hardly fulfilled. War between both the countries emerged on 24th of February
as Ukraine was not giving some of its territories named as Crimea and KYIV. This war led to
impact on economic situation of Russian, Ukraine, United Kingdom and many more countries.
The war also impacted on financial resources of United Kingdom and led to create harm on
whole economy. As the United Kingdom was more dependent on supply from Ukraine and
Russia, due to war all the supply of raw material supply was stopped. If the views of Magula,
Rouland, and Zwack, 2022 are taken into account, the Gross National Product and National

Income of United Kingdom was also affected in a negative manner. It is one of the major roles of
government to develop effective and strategic planning in order to revive the economy. This war
also created less chances of import and export for United Kingdom to these countries which has
created deficit. The fiscal deficit of United Kingdom drastically increased by consequences of
war. The demand and supply of major products and services in UK were also impacted with the
commencement of war. Business entity must increase focus on key competitive approaches to
develop strategic choices that are most considerable according to the situation. In order to gain
competitive advantage in a set period of time, it is necessary for companies to perform specific
actions and well planned approach. As stated by Kuzio, 2018, the main task and functions of top
level management and higher authorities of a business is to secure a good position in the
marketplace. Business risk management approach is also a key way of increasing growth and
development chances by analysing the macro and external environment. Key focus of all major
companies should be on development of employee participation and also provide them essential
salaries even in the tough times.
The strong view point of Kuzio, 2017, the revenue and profitability of United Kingdom
companies which were performing their operations in United Kingdom also declined due to war.
The companies which were only dependent on Russia and Ukraine for trade faced shut down. In
most of the cases, companies were demanding help from UK government so that they could
revive themselves in a set period of time. United Kingdom government also put a major blame
on Russia to stop foreign direct trade and investment in many countries. It is specifically
analysed that, due to the commencement of war, many individuals who were performing sole
trader business in Ukraine and Russia also faced key issues and challenges. Russia Ukraine war
also impacted on the economy of different countries. In order to revive from the situation,
financial planning is most crucial step that could be taken by companies. In the recent times, due
to presence of strong executive system in United Kingdom, government developed focused plans
and policies which were effective in making companies to come again in the marketplace. As
said by Kagarlitsky, Desai, and Freeman, 2019, the loss suffered by companies of United
Kingdom however can not be recovered but several steps could be taken to deal with the
situation. In the UK, many international and national companies also took guidance from
professional and expert strategic management to control loss and damage. In order to gain

competitive growth at the marketplace it is important for these companies to take actions
according to contemporary business environment.
The economic loss which was faced by many different business organisations could lead
to cause serious future consequences. To increase the strength and capabilities of companies, it is
necessary for government to provide them with major subsidies. Most of the companies are also
adopting strategic frameworks which are important for performing regulatory roles and
responsibilities. If the view of Fengler, Kreutler, and Kus, 2020, the United Kingdom
government is already partially recovering from the pandemic Covid-19 and due to the Russia
Ukraine war, the country is suffering with a major financial crisis. The main role of government
is to develop focused policies and plans which are effective in nature in order to evaluate key
strategic choices. Main function of a business is to secure good place in the competition and to
increase growth and overall potential with help and assistance of government. Major companies
of United Kingdom which are operating overseas like Tesco, Marks and Spencer, ASDA are also
facing huge loss in the competition. It is major role of a business to secure effective development
based practices in order to revive themselves. Cohen, 2018 states that, the information and
technology are also one of the major factors that could be helpful for businesses in performing
quick and accurate operations. The rules and regulations which are formulated by respected
government of United Kingdom should be also analysed with key effectiveness and relaxation
must be provided on major basis to different companies. According to Charap, and Colton, 2018,
main task of a business is to increase competition growth based chances by delivering best
strategies to overcome situation. The import and export duties which are imposed by government
of UK should be also minimised. Competition between companies is also increasing as per the
demand of different products and services. In order to lead the competition, it is necessary for
different companies to take into consideration the inflation rates and set price accordingly. As
per Bowen, 2019, the inflation situation in country is also impacting on its functioning by
increasing crucial chances of economic crisis. If the government will not take essential steps with
ethics then the whole country will go in a serious situation.
