Introduction
The SAAS cloud computing services are the method that provides services by using the network
to deliver software applications to the clients. This method of cloud computing eliminates the
requirements of installing and running applications/software in each of the computers present in
the organization. In this, the software/applications are directly installed on the cloud network and
the services are provided via subscriptions with the third-party that provides cloud services. On
the other hand, PAAS cloud computing services are the method that uses the network services to
deliver a structure in which the clients can use the software/applications provided by the service
providers and customize and develop it according to their organization's requirement. The
software/applications in this method of cloud services are also provided by the third-party
suppliers but with an added benefit to customize the framework of the services.
Reason for comparison
Both cloud computing methods have their own benefits and disadvantages. The application of
SAAS only provides application but does not allow the clients to optimize application according
to the requirements of the organization. Their subscription plan is also based on the services and
cannot be customized according to the requirements of the organization which incurs unwanted
charges for the services that come bundled with the subscriptions of the applications. These
aspects of SAAS are not present in PAAS as it provides the option to customize the application
according to the organization. PAAS also allows the clients to customize their subscription plan
and select the required services. This helps in paying only for the services required. SAAS does
not make the source codes visible to their clients hence alteration of the application is not
performable within the organization to meet their requirements. In order to customize or update

the applications, the client must always contact the service providers. In PAAS this requirement
of the service provider is not always required as the source code is provided to the clients and
customizing and updating of the applications according to organization requirement can be
performed within the organization.
Comparison techniques
The comparison techniques used in this report is based on various methodologies. The
technologies are surveyed and studied by researching various articles and journals available.
Organizations using these technologies are also observed to determine the benefits of these cloud
computing methods. Feedbacks have also been generated in a numerical scale to determine the
best option among the two for the organization’s benefits. Surveys are also performed within the
organization to determine the choice of the individuals present in the organization. Other
methodologies used to perform comparisons includes the questionnaires that have been
circulated among the organization's employees to view their knowledge and keen interests on the
technology which will better suit the organizations need and enhance the growth of the
organization.

The benefits of implementing SAAS include-
 Ease of use- SAAS comes with pre-customized functionalities which are designed by the
developers present in the service provider end.
 Integration and scalability- SAAS does not require any purchase of other software
programs to be integrated into the provided service bundle.
 Less time required in implementation- SAAS is easy to implement with no requirements
of programming or coding as the bundles are premade and stored in the service provider end.
Disadvantages
The disadvantages of SAAS include-
 Slow processing speed- the performance of SAAS is slower compared to other cloud
computing methodologies.
 The requirement of continuous internet connection- SAAS requires continuous internet
flow connections as the services provided are only available when there is an internet
connection.
 Upgradability of services- SAAS does not allow upgrades to be performed by the
organization and the source codes to the programs are not provided to the organization. The
organization may regularly upgrade to meet the demands of the consumers which require
regular upgrading of the cloud services as well.
 Data loss- Due to the design of the SAAS services, the important and crucial data are in
possession of the service providers which can cause issues if are accessed by hackers or in
hands of wrong persons.

After the performing of the comparison report, it can be concluded that PAAS cloud computing
technology is a better option then the SAAS cloud computing technology as it provides much

enhancement ability to the organization. Implementing PAAS will also help in keeping the
services of the organization updated and provide its benefits to the employees as well as to the
consumers of the organization.
