B. DIFFERENT TYPE AND PURPOSE OF ORGANIZATIONS
1. For Profit Organization: A for-profit organization is an organization that operates with the
main purpose of making money and making profits. Most for-profit businesses will sell a
product or service to serve the customer and profit from their needs. Business owners derive
income from profits and can pay shareholders and investors for profits.
2. Non-Profit Organization: A nonprofit organization is a business that has been granted tax-
exempt status by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) because it furthers a social cause and
provides a public benefit. The main goal is to focus on one goal: community help, charity,
philanthropy, or welfare. Money is generated from the organization to maintain its operation,
and it is not owned by any individual.
3. Non-Government Organizations: A non-governmental organization (as known as NGO) is a
non-profit group that functions independently of any government. Sometimes called civil
societies, NGOs are organized on the community, national and international levels to serve a
social or political goal such as humanitarian causes or the environment. NGOs, or non-
governmental organizations, play a major role in international development, aid, and
philanthropy. NGOs are non-profit by definition but may run budgets of millions or up to
billions of dollars each year. NGOs rely on various funding sources, from private donations
and membership dues to government contributions.
4. A Public Limited Company (PLC) is a separate legal business entity that offers its shares to be

1. A Sole Trader is a business operated and owned by a single individual. The sole proprietor is
the sole profit takers of the business. The liability of the owners is very high. A sole trader
business doesn’t have any legal identity separate from its owner, leading many to say that

business, assets, and profits after tax.
2. A Partnership is a type of business in which at least two members are joint owners. Doing
business together under a common name called general partners may have capital
contributors apart from the general partners. Capital contributors are only responsible for the
company's debts to the extent of the capital contributed to the company and personal
property unrelated to the company.
A private Limited Company is the most common form of UK company incorporation. It
operates as a distinct legal entity to its directors and shareholders – the company is an
‘individual’ in its own right. This means that all the business assets, liabilities, and profits
belong to the company itself, and the shareholders are not wholly responsible for debts
incurred by the company.
Marketing is a holistic system of organization activities designed to
plan, procure, promote and distribute products, services and ideas to meet the needs of the
target market and achieve the goals of the organization. Accordingly, Marketing can be
broadly understood as all business activities of an enterprise. Activities ranging from forming
the idea of producing goods, services to developing production and consumption to sell well
in the market.
The Finance Department is a division of the organization responsible for
acquiring funds for the company, managing the funds within the organization and planning
the expenditure of funds for various assets. This is the part of the organization that ensures
government through legal means to take part in activities of a commercial nature. A state-
