The present discussion is based on the class topic “health and safety (H&S)” aspect, which is an
important consideration in routine employee practices. In particular, the work burden and
constraints related to the availability of resources are important segments that can affect H&S
strategy. The importance of this section is to identify existing risk and flaming mitigation
strategies in order to render minimum risk at work. According to Kecklund and Axelsson (2016),
the hierarchy of control include 5 level measures, which are elimination, substitution, and
engineering out the hazard, administrative measures, and personal protective equipment. In
clinical settings, the elimination phase includes assessment of risk and substitution include
identification of possible mitigation strategies from the available resources. This information was
also learned from the media news (Safe Work Australia, 2019). Furthermore, the risk assessment
and it’s important at workplace is also discussed to be an important policy of the workplace
environment which can avoid accidents (Chronicle News, 2018). Subsequently, the engineering
phase includes determining the mitigation strategies by adopting change, and the implementation
rule will be fulfilled by the administration. The most important phase includes the use of
personal protective equipment such as gloves, eye protectants, apron, and other safety measures.
Additionally, the organizational practices also include additional assessment for safe care
practices. This mainly includes consideration of cycle social hazard such as pressure at work,
delegation, negotiation, and other stress related to performativity. However, in the report of
Zwetsloot, Leka and Kines (2017), the show shade determinants such as gender inequality,
workplace bullying, violence, and job insecurity are also considered to be important rivers for the
psychosocial disturbance at work.
Self-reflection and experience - In my opinion, it is the responsibility of managers and leaders to
identify existing health risk at the workplace, and thereby to strategies for resolving the issues.

Doing so is effective in terms of maintaining a positive work environment as well as it offers a
sense of responsibilities and satisfaction the actively engaged professionals. I have experienced
the importance of these strategies from my previous workplace, where the administrator were
deeply concerned for health and safety measures. I learned that they are also effective in
reducing employee turnover and maintaining effective outcomes.
