 All the service centres and communities are doing their best to give a safe and
secured environment to the patients.
 The strategies which they follow to do so are good and effective but only if they
are implemented properly and taken seriously by everyone.

Safeguarding in health and social care consist that it protect persons, well-
being, human rights, sanctioning them to live free from harm, health neglect
and abuse.
It mention the aggregation of measures that assure in units like young people,
children, vulnerable adults, children are secure from abuse, neglect and harm
in community.

OFSTED : The Office for Standards in Education (OFSTED), is said to be one
of the crucial program, which helps in providing services to Children and it
also stays enclosed with number of skills as well in regards to non-ministerial
department of United Kingdom's government, and this has to be reported by
them to the Parliament.
Safeguarding policy and procedures : Safeguarding along with different
range of child related protections along with the procedures stays linked with
all the details, which delivers the number of guidelines and instructions that

Regulation 44 independent visit : Regulation 44 visits are the point at which an
Independent, Person visits a child's' private home on a month to month
premise.
Regular OFSTED inspection : When a doctor (healthcare provider) is enrolled
on the Early Years Register, Ofsted completes ordinary reviews to assess the
general quality and benchmarks.
Whistle blowing policy : In this policy 'Whistle-blowing' means the reporting by
employees of suspected misconduct, illegal acts or failure to act within the Council.

The methods and strategies use for safeguarding in health and social care services with
their effectiveness are discussed here.
 The effectiveness of this strategy is that it prevents the maltreatment of a child
along with ensuring that children grow up in an environment with proper
provision of safe and effective care delivery by care professionals in a child care
organisation.
 It is the responsibility of Reg 44 visitor to make a documentation about how a
child care home is being run.
 It is a policy where someone in organisation pass an information about illegal or
misconduct actions being taken.

Discussion of possible improvements to working
practices and strategies to minimize abuse in health
and social care contexts (3.3)
 It has been recommended that rather than just providing care services for
children OFSTED should also educate them and make them learn about
child abuse and what necessary actions they can take for protecting
themselves when they are being abuse in any way.
 It has been suggested that childcare organisation like Haringey Council’s
child protection should also introduce some safety equipments for children
so that they could fight against child abuse

 In context to Haringey Council’s child protection, it has been recommended
that reg 44 independent visit should give a surprise visit in organisation
rather than a fixed monthly visit.
 It has been suggested that rather than inspecting schools once in every
three years.
 It has been recommended that rather than supplying information about any
misconduct within different levels of organisation.

Summary
 From above mentioned report, it has been concluded that safeguarding is one
kind of a process that needs to be performed well in health and social care
sector.
 As this may lead hospitals and health care centres to reduce bully and other
abusive incidents from all over the world.
 On the other hand, government has also made ample number of strategies and
laws like Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (2006), Care Act, 2014 that have
already helped them in reducing number of abusive cases.
 Lastly, it has also been summarised that hospitals that have installed CCTV
cameras and have followed legislations related to providing better services to
patients.
