INTRODUCTION
Safeguarding is a term which is used for preventing health of human beings, their well
beings and rights of adults too in order to live them safely by getting free from abusive or
neglecting activities (Lang and Hartill, 2014). Therefore, this assignment is going to highlight
various practices and legislation related to safeguarding of human rights with the help of Gifty
case study. Moreover, project will show the action that need to be taken during abusive activities
with the help of suitable provisions and legal laws.
TASK
According to the given scenario, Gifty is a woman who is working in local bakery but
having a mild learning with physical disability still she loves to work there. Recently, she has
fired from bakery shop due to which she felt very sad and depressed. Hence, it shows that she
has gone through discriminative abuse due to which she felt very emotional and encountering an
emotional neglect from bakery. As a result, she refuses to eat, drink and even not changing the
clothes also from last 3 days. Therefore, she really need an emotional support and corrective
suggestion for getting overcome from this major issue.
According to the Care Act 2014 (Section 42) local authorities are responsible to make
enquires about the causes of abusive activities and need to identify that whether the adult is
experiencing any risk or neglect. Therefore, it is essential to establish an enquiry for determine
that whether the action has been taken for preventing or to stopping exploitative activities of firm
(Nelson and Creagh, 2013). As per the legal provision of Section 42, safeguarding adult manager
who has appointed by legitimate bodies as a professional manager from adult social care or any
NHS organization to resolve the problem of suffering person by using various norms, values and
strategies (Stevens, 2013).
As a health care manager, it has been identified in the case of Gifty she is suffering from
emotional negligence in which local bakery has ignore her and fired without mentioning any
genuine reason. Therefore, as per safeguarding guidelines and principles, emotional abusive is
going to solve by doing various activities such as-
Requisite to use person centred approach for focussing entirely on Gifty in order to make
her realise about the current situation.
Need to conduct a program or event for boosting the morale of Gifty.
Encourage her to get involved with various social members for starting a new beginning.

Apart from this, workplace discrimination is solved by applying various legal provisions related
with equality such as-
Equality Act 2019- As per this provision, local bakery is not having a right to
discriminate employees at workplace on the basis of physical disability. Main purpose of this Act
is to prevent staff members from harassment or victimisation at workplace. Basically, users of
private and public companies are relying on nine protected characteristics such as; age,
disability, gender, marriage, pregnancy, maternity, race, religion and sex or so on (Peckover,
2013).
Therefore, it has been understood that safeguarding practices have set numerous of
provisions which is really beneficial for Gifty and she can surely come out from emotional let-
down.
CONCLUSION
From the above report, it has been summarized that legal bodies have enacted number of
policies, norms and provisions for preventing human beings from abusive scenarios. Thus, any
individual can protect their rights by imposing various legal principles which just like Gifty as
she needs to fight for her right instead of losing confidence.
