to yielding income of the enterprise. Sainsbury is a leading retail industry in UK which
undergoes various functions in order to generate profits. The role and importance of its business
functions are-
Marketing refers to the process of introducing and communicating the products into the
market so that the customers are aware what business of offering. Sainsbury' s marketing unit is
entrusted with a role to communicate and promote the products already existing or duly
launched so that customers are attracted to purchase it. The marketing department creatively and
attractively promote the products in order to look distinct from its competitor. The importance
of this function is that it helps in maintaining the long term relationship with the audience so that
customer engagement is made for its successful survival.
Production refers to the process of converting inputs into the finished output by
undergoing many procedures. The production unit of Sainsbury undertakes role of ensuring that
raw materials are timely provided in order to finish the production within the allotted time so that
products are reached to customer on time (Podder, Samanta and Gurunath, 2020). The
importance of this function is that it helps in adding value to the product so that long lasting
relation is maintained with customers with offering quality products to the consumers.
Finance unit's main task is to acquire funds for business operation and allocate the
