INTRODUCTION
In the business environment there are different types of functions and activities which are
used to develop the organizational performance. It has been seen that there are different types of
changes which should be used by organization for managing all functions and activities. To
running and managing business activities there is need to have skills and knowledge that uses for
attaining the competitive advantages and maintaining higher performance. In this report I am
sharing my experience and task which I completed while working in organization. Career
planning is the process of thinking critically, and bringing the changing the changes at their
workplace which can help to developing higher productivity (Mark, and Alexander, 2019). The
report is based on Sainsbury that is large size organization that increase the sales by selling
products and services effectively. The report covers general or current trend which are running in
business industry, skis and knowledge that used to solve problems and evaluation that can help to
develop the business activities.
MAIN BODY
The business environment is getting change day by day where it is important to provide
the products and services accordingly as it attracts the large number of customers and attain the
profitability. In an organization there are many functions such as Human resources, marketing,
sales, production, and IT that are important to run business and attaining the performance. For
example, Sainsbury is the large supermarket where all functions are required to perform properly
and manage the activities. There are two types of research primary and secondary research which
is related to collecting the information and data in relation to particular topic. The primary
research is used to collect the data from primary or first hand sources that can help to develop the
business activities and performance. On the other side, secondary research is used to collect the
information on the basis of secondary resources such as journal and books, and external sources
which are used to developing the business activities (Jung, 2019).

In the business environment there are different types of businesses are running going that
used to develop the business activities and functions. This is important for management to
understand what is running in market and how the customers can be satisfied in changing
environment. In relation to Sainsbury there are different general trends that are running in
business environment and affected the organizational activities that are as explained:
Changing needs of customers – As environment is changing needs of customers also
getting to changes where it is important for business organization to provide the products
accordingly and maintain the higher performance. Sainsbury is required to focus on this trend
and introduce the products and services accordingly which can help to develop the organizational
activities and performance (Wang, and et.al., 2019).
Occurrence of pandemic – Whole world is facing the issue of pandemic where people
become so much health consciousness so it impacted negatively on business industry and
functions. Due to this trend, customers buying behaviour has been changed and they reduced the
buying products from outside. Thus, sales and profitability of Sainsbury has been reduced.
Changing in government regulations – To run a business and increasing sales government
and political stability is having major role as it formulate the regulation which are important to
implement by business concern for the purpose of running its business continuously. After
Brexit, it became difficult for Sainsbury to operate its business in European country as
government declare the Brexit or trade war that affected the organizational sales.
Globalization and new technology – For successfully business and retaining in competitive
environment it is important for business concern to introduce the innovation and new technology
as it influence the number of people and get them ready to adopt the new technology. Every
organization who wish to increase the organizational sales then it is require to use the new
technology and innovation for the purpose of introducing new products and services which can
attracts the large number of customers and attain the profitability. Sainsbury is using the
innovation and new technology for introducing new technology and innovation at their
workplace which can help to develop the organizational performance and profitability.
Thus, from the above trend which are using in business environment is needed to consider
while running a business as it influence the number of people and supports them to enter in new

employees is require to have marketing skills as it help to analysis the market and introduce the
new products.
Innovation / new technology skills – While running a business it is important for
individual to have innovation or technical skills as it used to bring something new and attracting
in market which is not come yet in the market. Every business concern is require to use the new
technology and innovation that can help to reach the targeted customers and increase the
organizational sakes (Ferrari, and Solberg, 2020).
Research skills – This is another skill which is required to conduct the proper research and
managing the all functions for the purpose of running a business successfully. If an individual
does not have research skills then it will be challenging to run and operate its activities regularly.

business functions such as marketing, human resource management, sales, and production which
can help to managing all functions and activities properly (Fidan, 2019).
Knowledge about market: The another aspects in which people is require to develop
their understanding level bout market and researching activity as it develop the higher
performance and productivity in changing environment.
Evaluation
As I was working in Tesco where I developed my area of skills and knowledge in all field.
I was working at there as marketing executive and have given my best to grow the organization.
In this, my roles are responsibilities was to conduct the market research and comes to know what
is running in trend and use the skills for introducing new products and services. I understood that
by introducing new products an organization can retain their customers for long period of time
which can help to develop the organizational activities and functions effectively. I increased
innovative, and communication skills by working in a team and allotting them work which
supported me to perform all roles clearly. This provide me an opportunity to show my talent and
increase the business profitability effectively. The skills is helpful for me a sit will be provide me
a good opportunity to grow business and attaining the personal as well as professional goals.
CONCLUSION
From the report it can be concluded that business environment is diversify where proper
research and analysis is important as it introduce the new products and services. The department
of business organization are HR, marketing, finance, IT, and sales that can help to attain the
business goals. Skills and knowledge is important aspects to establish and running a business
properly.
