INTRODUCTION
Organisation refers as a group of people, who work collectively to obtain the organisational
vision ,mission , goals and objective. Organisation is considered as an entity which which
consider various activities and operations that can help to achieve the the day today operations of
the organisation. Every organisation require and specific plan and strategy and apply the
strategies the development of of employees and progression of organisation. There are various
types of people working in an organisation so it is important for the manager tu to analyse the
behaviour of the employees and then treat them accordingl. The main purpose of this report is to
discuss about the organisation behaviour of Sainsbury's organisation which is second largest
multinational supermarket chain founded by the John James Sainsbury's. This retailing
organisation established in in 1869 and the headquarter situated in London, UK. This report is
discussed about the culture of the organisation and use specific model. This report also discuss
about organisational culture improve the effectiveness of the organisation. Moreover, identify the
role of culture in motivation of employees and then determine the impact of culture on the
success of an organisation.

Basically organisational culture contain personality & character which mainly focus on the
values, believe, attitude, belief and adamson of the employees and also concerned about the
behaviour of the employees so that they can interact with each other in a positive manner and
maintain their value and beliefs system. Organisational culture is concerned about the history and
environment of the organisation so that employees can maintain the dignity of organisation and
follow all all rules and regulation in a systematic manner which will help to to spread the healthy
working environment (Connolly and et. al., 2017). Sainsbury's is most famous retail organisation
which operate their business in various areas so there are large number of people working in this
organisation and every employee contain different value, believes, attitude and behaviour so it
is essential to maintain the organization culture in an organisation. Managers of the Sainsbury's
need to focus on some statistical framework and apply appropriate theoretical model which can

operations. Sainsbury's manager uses any specific model which can help to enhance the
organization culture and identify the specific leadership which is useful for the development of

Handy's organisation culture model
It is important to each and every organisation to focus on their culture which can help to
provide the effective environment in which every employee work in a collective form and also
communicate in an effective manner. To understand the organisation culture it is essential to
know about the effective leadership (Fasanmi, 2018). Every leaders and managers in the
organisation are responsible to motivate and encourage their employees so that they can follow
the structure and also consider the specific guideline of the organisation culture. With the help of
this model, Sainsbury's can use four type of dimensions that is power, role, person and task
culture. These dimensions are helpful to maintain the culture within an organisation. All these
four dimensions are as follows -
ï‚· Power - This dimension mainly concerned about the power of the organisation. In an
organization power mainly remain on some people and they have authority to take
decision on behalf of all the employees and all the decisions are taken for the welfare of
the employees and organisation both. This type of employees who have power they enjoy
the special privilege in the organisation. Person who hold specific powers they are
decision maker of the organisation and they delegate all the duties and responsibility to
the other team members so that they can work properly and follow their instructions in a
right manner. Top management, board of directors, Chief executive and other high
authorities who have power, rights and responsibilities to take care of each and every
operations of the organization (Gkorezis and Petridou, 2017). Sainsbury's organizations
managers’ board of directors and other staff members are responsible to maintain the
organisation structure and culture which will help to create the good environment.

person culture in their organisation. The productivity of the employees is very low and
they don't want to take risk and they are less interested towards their work. In Person

ï‚· Role Culture - As per the role culture it can be determined that this type of culture are
more focus about roles, responsibilities, rules and delegations of employees. According to
role culture, all the employees can do their task as per their specialisation and they are
master of their own field. Sainsbury's mainly concerned about this culture because every
employees are dedicated towards their work and provide their best contribution in the
success of the organization (Katou, 2017). Sainsbury's provide free organisation culture
in which employees have rights to take decision by their own and do their work on the
basis of their understanding.

communication.
Organisational culture mainly lead to the efficiency of the employees and also help them
so that they can effectively participate in the organisational activities. Organisational culture
concerned about the values and beliefs system of the employees so that they can collectively

responsible to boost the productivity and effectiveness of the organisation and also maintain the
