INTRODUCTION
Overview:
Equality and diversity refers to promoting the equal opportunities to all the employees at
work place so that they are given equal chances to gain profits. It is necessary to promote
diversity at work place so that every person is treated individually and also they are given equal
chances to present their views and thoughts in the business (5 Strategies for Creating an Inclusive
Workplace, 2020). In terms of legal rules, every companies are bound to work under the equality
act, 2010 which indicates that they not entertain their business into any discrimination activities.
Present report is based upon the Sainsbury company which was founded by John James
Sainsbury in 1869. They considered to be the second largest chain of supermarket in UK dealing
in wider range of products or services. It is examined that around 1,86,900 employees are
carrying the business of Sainsbury worldwide. This report will cover the matter relating to
examining the strategies and initiates that company adapted to build the diversity and inclusive
workforces interest for longer way.
Aim: To identify the strategies and initiatives adapted by companies to build a diverse and
inclusive workforce – A case study of the Sainsbury.
Objectives:
To determine the concept of the inclusive workforce in the company
To evaluates the benefits gained through adapting the strategies regarding diversifying
the workforces internally in the business.
To assess the challenges faced by company during initiating the procedure of diversifying

Cost: In this aspect, the cost is examined which is spend through purchasing the
stationary or other equipment which is used in conducting the research. As this is the
basic necessity which is used in conducting the project in right manner.
Scope: It refers to the compete stability of the projects which is to be delivered i.e. in
terms of quality of information provided or conducting the research within the set time
period. The main focus is on the key words which is used in presenting the data in right
way (Foster, 2019).
Time: To compete the project, time is set regarding examining the initiation stage with
the completion stage through the procedure of the Gantt chart. Through this manner,
monitoring and controlling procedure is undertaken for each particular activity (Palacios,
2016).
Quality: It is necessary that quality is to be maintained in the project and this is
undertaken through conducting the secondary research in which the data is to be collected

and selecting the collected information. It includes two types such as interpretivism and
positivism. In this research, interpretivism method is used in which the data is to be
interpreted once they are collected by undertaking various sources (Deshpande, 2018).
Research approach: It includes the appropriate planning and procedure which is used to
gather detailed information. It includes two approaches such as inductive and deductive.
Here to carry the project, inductive method is used as by selecting the qualitative
methods, inductive method is selected to gather internal information from the company.
Data collection: It refers to the process of gathering and collecting information from
various factors. It carries two methods primary and secondary methods. Primary method
is used to collect original information. In case of secondary method, it is used to collect
information from other sources. Thus, in this both the methods are used to collect the
relevant information (Khan and et.al., 2019).
Sampling: It is undertaken when there are large number of population and it is tough to
select all the person to gather the relevant data. Thus, in such manner random sampling
procedure is undertaken in which the data is collected by selecting the random people
(Singh and et.al., 2019). In this case 20 employees of the Sainsbury are selected through
which the questions are raised regarding examining their judgement on the bases of
equity and diversity at work place.
Data analysis: In this data is to be analyzed once they are collected and interpreted and
presented through the thematic procedure. In this research, the data which are collected
are presented on the bases of theme, so that relevant information is presented and also it
makes the research work unique and different from others (Pearl-Martinez and Stephens,
2016).
Ethical consideration: Ethics are the values and norms which is carried by the researcher
during conducting the research. In this ethics is to be maintained in respect of carrying
the consent from which is to be signed by the participants before sharing any of the
