REFLECTION
Reflection helps in effectively analysing the key areas which helped me build clear
and concise set of rules in order to attain wider set of knowledge and understanding. It will
help me to effectively reflect on various self management, team working, interpersonal skills,
leadership and communication skills (Gibbs Reflective Cycle by Graham Gibbs, 2019). I will
use Gibbs reflective model in order to demonstrate a clear understanding of the reflective
practice in order to determine what I have learnt from the activity.
Description: I have critically evaluated the Size, structure, mission, vision and goals
of Sainsbury which helped me in evaluating the market size and areas within which Salisbury
deals. I have to analyse the various target market for the Sainsbury company. I have
determined the key external factors which adversely affect the operational efficiency of the
business. I have carried out SWOT analysis in order to identify various internal factors that
affect functioning of the company. This is done to determine the various factors which affect
the functioning of the company and helps in attaining greater market share. I have also
effectively examined the role of employees in Sainsbury which helps in effectively managing
all the activities of the company. I will also focus on evaluating the importance and
requirements of training development. I have also evaluated the role of manager and its
importance by enhancing various aspects of the company. I have also critically investigated
the skills and knowledge which are required for human resource manager in order to carry
out activities in an efficient and systematic manner.
Feelings: I have felt really excited while carrying out this study. I have gained
immense knowledge and it also helped me in boosting up the confidence. I have gained
knowledge of various effective skills and knowledge which are needed to carry out function
as a HR manager in the organization. I felt really very confident after carrying out this study
because this study has helped me in gaining various effective knowledge which helped me in
filling gaps on the current knowledge in the particular area of study. I have felt really happy
while carrying out the study because it helped in broadening various effective ways which
leads to higher professional and personal growth. I had a really greater experience while
carrying this study as I was able to enhance my skills and determine various factors which
influence the functioning of the Sainsbury's. I had gained wide knowledge about various
concepts and theories which has lead to better performance and timely completion of the
project. I have effectively used the various resources of the company which in turn results in

better results and outcomes from the study. I have made effective connection between various
team members without creating any chaos.
Evaluation: I have evaluated that I have an effective communication skills which
helped me in transferring information from one person to another. I have improved my
written and verbal skills which are of great help to transmit information effectively. It helps
me in transmitting information using various communication channels in order to accomplish
the desired activities and task in a timely manner. I have developed effective team
management skills by taking into consideration viewpoints of all the team members. I have
learnt how to work in a team in order to gain new insights and knowledge which helped me in
attaining better results and outcomes. It was a very interesting task to determine the outcomes
of the various techniques and models used in the study which in turn helps me in filling the
gaps on the current knowledge.
I have learnt self management skills which helped me in managing all the functions
and activities of the study in order to carry out the study in a systematic and efficient manner.
I have learnt various problem solving skills, managing time and strengthening memory in
order to perform better results and outcomes. I have learnt how to work effectively in
stressful situation and effectively communicate the problems in order to find the best solution
(Pink and et.al., 2016). I have gained various interpersonal skills such as delegating
responsibility and assigning work according to the knowledge and capability of the
individual. I have learnt how to motivate other to perform set desired task and attain higher
goals and objectives of the Sainsbury's company. I am patient and flexible and can easily
adapt to changing dynamic environment. I have learnt that I am an active listener which helps
me in taking to strategic decision and understand the viewpoints of the person.
It was very challenging to carry out the study because of the time constraints. I had
difficulty in managing the various functions to carry out the study in a systematic ad efficient
manner. I had difficulty in collecting the valid data from reliable and valid sources because of
personal biasses of group members. I had difficulty in understanding the viewpoints of
various team members and work in coordination in a synchronized manner. The major
challenge was to mange the finance in order to complete the study within stipulated time. I
have analysed that HR manager is useful in resolving conflict between employees (Starkey
and et.al., 2017). I have critically examined the fact that, training and development helps in
developing various skills, knowledge and capabilities in order to accomplish the desired goals
and objectives. This study has helped me learn various effective training and development

methods i.e., both on the job and off the job training method which in turn helps in enhancing
the skills and knowledge of individuals. I have analysed the fact that individual will focus on
developing various strategic knowledge which in turn helps in higher personal growth and
development. I have analysed the various aspects which in turn has broadened the knowledge
and skills on the particular subject matter. I have gained that human resource manger needs
effective communication and interpersonal skills, recruitment, selection, training and
development, hiring, compensating, team building capability, strategic decision making,
management and leadership skills, time management, delegation and responsibility,
budgeting skills, multitasking skills, problem solving, analytical and logistical skills, positive
working environment, etc. I have to critically examine the various factors which affect the
operational performance and study. I have to develop effective strategies which in turn results
in better growth prospects and personality development. I also need to develop effective
communication skills which helps in transferring information from one person to another in
order to takes strategic decision. There are various individuals such as professors, team
members, batch mates, friends and family helped in carrying out the research in an effective
and systematic manner.
Analysis: It was a very crucial task for me to identify the size, structure, mission,
vision and goals of Sainsbury's in order to sell the goods effectively and efficiently to attain
greater heights. I have established the fact that employees are grouped according to product,
geographical location in order to maintain an effective organizational structure. I have
analysed the fact that, Sainsbury's will focus on describing the target market. I have analysed
that, determining an effective market segment leads rto higher sales and profitability. This
will further help in enhancing the growth and profitability of the company which leads to
future growth and development (Bass and et.al., 2019). I have analysed various internal
factors with the help of SWOT analysis in order to identify the strengths, weakness,
opportunities and threat in order to attain greater market share. I have learnt that, the greatest
strength of Sainsbury's is that it focuses on adapting to new technology and innovative ideas.
I have analysed the biggest weakness of the company is large number of rivalry competitors
are present in the market. I have critically evaluated that implementation of new tax policies,
government strategies will bring more opportunities for future sustainable growth and
development. I have also determined that, the major threat for the Sainsbury company is the
major competitors and the shortage of skilled employees which in turn results in lower
operational growth and efficiency for the Sainsbury's company.

I have also critically examined the role of employees in Sainsbury's which in turn
results in managing the various activities and functions of the company. I have established
that employees must communicate and coordinate all the activities which in turn helps in
achieving desired goals. I have established the fact that employees must comply with all the
rules and regulations in order maintain good positive working environment. I have gained
knowledge that employees must focus on completing all the task in time.
I have worked effectively contribute towards future growth and development of the
individual. I have taken active participation in all the activities to carry out this study. The
major challenge was to conduct SWOT analysis and analyse the various factors which affect
the operational efficiency of the business (Gallagher and et.al., 2017). It was also difficult to
manage the tasks on time. I have made a project management plan and budget plan to keep
track of the activities and expenses. I focus on scheduling the time required to carry out each
activity. Th other people of the group focused on coordinating each activities which in turn
leads to better results and outcomes.
Conclusion: I have sought to determine the fact that, this study has helped me in
filling gaps on the current knowledge of the study and broaden the knowledge by gaining
new insights. I have learnt about various concepts, theories and viewpoints of various authors
which in turn lead to better knowledge and it will be very useful for me to carry out any
further study with confidence. It was very challenging for me to carry put the study in a
limited time constrains and less availability of resources. This lead to delay in
accomplishment of task which eventually creates a chaos and lead to ineffective results.
In case the particular situation arises again, I will make a plan according to which all
the tasks and activities will be performed in order to complete task on time. I have to focus on
developing time management skills in order to perform task within stipulated time. I have to
focus on developing an effective management and leadership skills in order to delegate the
roles and responsibilities to perform task with utmost accuracy and efficiency. I also need to
develop effective communication skills which helps in transferring information from one
person to another in order to takes strategic decision. I also need to develop team building
capabilities which in turn helps in considering the viewpoints of various individuals and
make the study more interesting effective.
Action plan: I have evaluated that I should focus on developing various interpersonal
skills which in turn helps in carrying out the study effectively (Middleton, 2017). I will also

focus on making a work based system and timeline to allot task to each activity and
reschedule the same in case necessary changes is required. It helps in formulation of plan and
implementation of strategies which leads to higher growth prospects. I will focus on solving
various case studies and analyse the organizational structure which helps in building various
analytical and logistical skills to perform the study in a smooth and systematic manner. I will
focus on learning various management theories and learning concepts to perform the task
more efficiently in the future. I will also focus on determining various effective tools which
in turn helps in performing the task more efficiently. I will also focus on clearing my
concepts and making strategic plan which in turn helps in performing the task with greater
efficiency and validity. I have to also develop my academic performance and gain insights
from seniors which in turn results in better results in the future. I will develop various
effective channels in order to transmit information without creating any chaos.
