INTRODUCTION
Due to COVID, there are many changes have been placed in the world due to which new
strategies and techniques have been developed in the business to maintain the market share and
sustainability in the market. As this pandemic has also changed an organizations working
patterns and business operations this pandemic has also forced the organization to embrace new
and effective digital technologies which can help in risk solving. This report is about Sainsbury
which was founded in 1869 and its headquarters is located in the UK as this organization is
mainly known as the second-largest chain of supermarkets. This report is the analysis of the
impact and the role of the information and also of communication technology in management
this report also involves existing policies and the change management process which can stand
strong against Covid. This report also involves the role of the leader and the recommendations
that the organization can follow effectively.

communication technology on the management of the workforce in the organization.
Information and communication technology assists businesses and individuals by using the
relevant information at the right place and at the right time. As this term covers all the
information in digital form and is concerned with transmission, digital data storage, and retrieval.
During the pandemic, this has saved the organization from going it to worse and secured the
organization from failure. During Covid Sainsbury has also shifted their business online and
stores have been closed which has promoted the organization to work remotely and serve society
online(Hafberg Borinstein and Alexopoulos 2019). As ICT company had got more opportunities at
the time of Covid as the business has shifted online and with the serving of the customers the top
management is also looked after the internal management of the employees effectively.
As Sainsbury is dependent on the business operations to run them appropriately as in this
organization everything is affected due to pandemics from human resources to the supply chain
of the organization and at this time Salisbury’s decision to use ICT for the better, reliable, and
flexible planning of the organization and each employee mainly focus on fulfilling the demand of
customers as this organization servers basic grocery and this is considered essential for the
organization to serve the country by there best services to make them feel save and this can also
solve the economic crisis of the organization effectively(Pius Alharahsheh and Adesanmi eds
2020). ICT usually assists the business activities like designing, sales, distribution,
manufacturing, and feedback.
As this information technology and communication is considered essential for Sainsbury as this
helps the organization during a pandemic to make them more productive by serving their
products online in an effective manner. This has also optimises the business performance of the
organization and this also helps in troubleshooting and also helps in safeguarding the data of the
organization in an effective manner. This has also reduced the cost of the organization as shifting
online It has reduced the business operational cost of Sainsbury(Lee Gloviczki, and Blei eds 2019).
Serving the products in pandemic has improved the customer satisfaction, communication, and
experience with the organization and they also used safety measures by delivering anything in an

chosen according to the workforce requirements as a company can trust the employees as there
will be no faced to face interaction due to pandemic but strict monitoring has been done for each
employee to manage the workforce of the organization(Wesslén, and Wahlgren 2018). As this Is
also important o hire adequate employees and give them training online and make them
responsible for their jobs. Sainsbury has the proper workforce mobility which readies the new
employees for their departmental job and this also leads to increased profit and productivity rate
of the organization effectively.

2019). They have also changed it by creating the right environment by connecting the

organization and make it design according to win and then the last step they followed id building
a right team with the required experience and skilled employees of the organization.

have followed in the organization and has followed the strategy named democratic strategy
which is helped the organization ineffective and better decision making process of the
organization which allows various benefit at the time pf pandemic and has also facilitated

There are many recommended strategies for Sainsbury that can be beneficial for the organization

the organization(Zhang and Ngamruengphong 2021). As Sainsbury should invest more in
innovating in the technology and the various departments of the organization as this company
should ensure that employees work effectively from work from home and give proper services to
the customers and this can be developed by communication methods, new software, and digital
systems of the organization. Another recommended strategy for Sainsbury is they should respond
to the demands in logistics which help in quicker shopping online and by adapting to the
demands of the logistics company can survive better in a pandemic(Wu Chang and Wurzel 2019).
As it is also recommended to Sainsbury for chaing in the models and techniques of the
organization to cope with different unexpected crises by which organization can be adaptive,
