an organisational context.
Organizational culture generally refers towards such a process that is contained with a
range of diversified beliefs, values and interaction processes in order to make
appropriate contribute towards making effective organizational environment. In addition
to that, both behavioural and social aspect of employees belonging from organizations
like Sainsbury also falls under the category of organizational culture. The management
group of different organizations such as Sainsbury has guided the behaviour of the
employment base (Elsmore, 2017). The help of different rule, regulations and the choice
of different consumer base is generally using the organizational cultures.
However, it has been observed in several different instances that the organisational
culture might face a range of different difficulties at the time of amending different
changes. As per the consideration of some scholars, it can be easily illustrate that the
entire model of organizational culture is consist of some diversified stage and in order to
enhance the basic ideology regarding organisational culture, it is essential for
individuals to learn different step or stages of the organizational behaviour. The physical
attributes of an organization is adhere of the first stage of any kind of organizational
behaviour at certain extension. The first step of organizational culture also includes
different things such as furniture and office of the organization, reward management
system, communications process and communication channels and many more.
The second stage of entire organizational culture is adhere of some apparent values
that has been valued by their entire stakeholder base. Therefore, in order to satisfy the
entire stakeholder base, it is essential for different organizations like Sainsbury to
maintain appropriate organizational culture at the workplace. At the second stage of
organizational culture, the beliefs, values, philosophies, goals, objectives and mission
statement of the organization are generally being cherished. Moreover, at the third

elements for implying different rules are being stated so that the employment base can
get along with the basic idea of the different policies and regulations.
Appropriate surveys and researches are needed to be taken into consideration by the
management group of organizations like Sainsbury so that they can get appropriate
information regarding the key perception of their employment base regarding the
existing model of organizational culture so that they can make appropriate modifications
at organizational culture. However, from several different instances it has been
observed clearly that the behaviourists of different organizations like Sainsbury might
miss out some basic elements and abilities of appropriate organizational culture.
Corporate organizational culture has been opted by Sainsbury so that they can easily
capture and modify the entire behavioural aspects of their employment base. In addition
to that, it has been easy to illustrate further the fact that four different kinds are closely
associated with corporate organizational culture. In the organizational culture that has
been posed by Sainsbury generally make their entire employment base much more
committed towards their leaders and management group and making them more loyal
than ever (Wiengartenet al., 2015). It will ultimately help them at getting a bigger market
share since they are able to manage their consumer base by enhancing the basics of
their entire employment base as employee satisfaction generally leads towards greater
productivity and ultimately greater revenue generation at certain extension.
Chose organization for conducting the study, Sainsbury is consist of a mixture of
different organizational cultures that make them become sustainable and claim their
spot as the third largest retailer of entire United Kingdom. They have such an
organizational culture that allows differ departments of their entire organizations to
make appropriate culture with others in order to maintain the flow of communication and
message passing (Trompenaars and Greene, 2016). The Chief Executive Director of
the organization mainly acts as the operation function head from the perspective of the
organization named Sainsbury. Additionally, their organization culture generally helps
them to shape out the psychology of their consumers and employment base so that
they can maintain a good and sarong relationship between each other. It is the key of

The organizational power can exclusively and effectively influences the overall
behaviour of different teams belonging form the organization so they can maintain an
extensive relationship with their entire consumer base. In addition to that, the power
structure that has been follows by Sainsbury are generally autocratic in nature, which
are not optimized model for maintaining the authenticity and viability organization
named Sainsbury at certain extension.
On the other hand, it has been observed in several extensions that organizational
politics mainly refers towards such system that persuade self interest rather than
organizational goals and objectives, which might badly hamper the overall production
and revenue generation of the organization at certain extension (Argyris, 2017). In
recent times, the entire business environment has become very much competitive and it
has been expected that the level of competiveness is going to get higher day after day.
The Hofstead theory easily describe the fact that the values of beliefs of individual
employees can make direct impact towards the overall performance level of different
teams belonging from organizations like Sainsbury (Macdonald et al., 2017). However, it
is extremely essential for such organizations to maintain the integrity and balance
between their organizational culture and overall structure so that they can effectively
use the power of different organizational working culture.

Evaluate how to motivate individuals and teams to achieve a goal.
Motivation mainly includes a range of different external and internal factors that might
direct affect and strongly influence the working capability of different employees
belonging from Sainsbury. It is extremely essential for the organization to formulate
such diversified plans and programs that not only motivates their employment base, but
also moves up the efficiency level of workers (Peters, 2015). Two different theories can
be taken into consideration at the time of motivating employment base, which are-
Content Theory and Process Theory. Description of each theory has been described
below:
Content Theory- According to the theory, customers changes their purchase behaviour
in short period. Therefore, it is essential for the employees to become self motivated so
that they can align their skills and attributes with changed behaviour of consumer base.
On other side, it has also been experienced that the management of different
organizations as Sainsbury need to motivate their entire employee base by providing
appropriate motivation and performance appreciation. Content theory is consisting of
two different theories, such as Theory X and Y of McGregor and Maslow’s Hierarchy of
needs.
Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs
This theory describes that the entire working condition of any organization can be
scaled by though the help of motivating the entire employment base. Different need of
the employment base can be recognized and mitigated by the help of hierarchy of
needs. Needs has been described below:
Physiological need- This can be illustrated as the most common need of humans that
consist of different aspects such as food, air, water, clothing, shelter and many others. It
is not possible for any human employee to work in such a condition that does not satisfy
their physiological needs. It is the foundation of the entire hierarchy framework.

(Source: Peters, 2015)
Safety needs- It is also an essential need for improving the motivation level. In order to
employee safety at the workplace, it is needed for organizations like Sainsbury to
employee human right acts, employment health and safety regulations. Maintaining
these regulations might be helpful for demonstrating the fact that their employees does
not need to get worried about their safety.
Self-actualization- In the value-based system, self-actualization helps towards
improving employee motivation. In addition to that, it mainly includes the need of
different things such as personal goals, personal happiness, proper utilization of talent
and many more.
Self-esteem- It is also sestina for employees to get proper recognition from their
management group in order to get motivated about their job role. It has been desired by

McGregor’s Theory X and Theory Y
This particular theory is based into the effort of management towards effective
employee motivation. In theory X, description regarding the importance of rewards and
supervision at motivation has been done. On the other hand, theory Y mainly focuses
into the job satisfaction and encouragement of different employees for achieving their
target by enhancing the level of their personal motivation.
Theory X- This theory is partially based into some assumption methods. It generally
assumes the fact that workers initially have lesser motivation and ambition to orient
towards personal goals and responsibilities. The management of different organizations
like Sainsbury thinks that all of their operations are being processed by self-interest
(Lawter, 2015). Additionally, the managers also believe that every action that has been
taken by the employees can be traced down in order to provide those rewards so that
they can get motivated regarding their job roles. Performance management and
adequate reward system is the key of Theory X of motivation.
Figure 2: Theory X and Theory Y
(Source: Lawter, 2015)
Theory Y – According to theory Y, leaders need to treat their entire employment base in
such manner so that the employees do understand the fact that employees are the key
asset of any organization at certain extension. Workers generally take the

responsibilities for the produced goods and products. The permission and assistance of
different people belong from the management group generally move up the working
efficiency of different workers. As per the theory, effective and efficient employees are
the key of improved production in context of any multination or small organizations.
The process theory regarding motivation can be related with the process that can be
taken into consideration by the management of different organizations to motivate their
employment base. A degree of different factors can get decided through the entire effort
level so that they can continue any form of complex or unattainable task. Key process
theories have been described below:
Equity theory
Adam initially founded this theory, the theory describes that received rewards and effort
level can put significant indulgence towards the success rate of any organization. In
addition to that, this particular process mainly makes them efficient and endeavours
enough to provide different benefits towards their respective organizations. Rewards
generally provided towards the employment base so that they can understand the fact
that their management is providing equal opportunity towards all of them (Osabiya,
2015). This theory has been extremely helpful towards minimizing inequality from the
workplace, which ultimately moves up the revenue generation of different organizations.
Vroom’s Expectancy theory
This particular theory is radically important for measuring the primary expectation of the
entire employment base so that the management of different organizations like
Sainsbury can measure the behavioural traits of their entire employment base. The
primary expectation of different management group for their entire employment base
generally surrounds of three key elements, such as instrumentality, valence and
expectance, As the expectancy factor, employees mainly analyse the tasks that has
been provided towards them so that they can assess their needed efforts (Lăzăroiu,
2015). In addition to that, desirability mainly assists different employees to determine
the proper outcome of their certain actions so that they can get motivated towards
making effective decision-making.

affectivity.

Demonstrate an understanding of how to co-operate effectively with others.
Team can easily be defined as the collection of different people that has similar goals,
objectives and responsibilities. People belonging from different groups generally make
effective communication with each other so that they can frequent their process of
interaction for achieving a similar goals and objectives. Different individuals that have
not been synchronized yet to deliver expected outcomes generally make up groups. In
addition to that, there are some also some other differences that lie between groups and
teams.
Functional teams are mainly consisting of different members of a certain organization
that belongs from dissimilar hierarchy. In an organization, a range of different teams are
closely linked with each other so that they can maintain the effectively and efficiency of
their respected organizations (Dulebohn and Hoch, 2017). Problem solving team of
different organizations like Sainsbury are mostly responsible for analysing and solving a
range of different problems that might be raised due to the functional imperfection of
their respective organization.
Modern techniques regarding communication have been extremely helpful towards
building perfect teams. The overall efficiency of different groups belonging from diverse
organizations is continuously rising due to the increment of help of modern
technologies.
Tuckman’s theory of team building
Tuckman has represented this theory and Sainsbury can consider this theory for moving
up the efficiency of their groups. Different stages of the theory have been described
below:
Forming- This is the first stage of building ay team and at this phase the members of
the group generally depend on their leaders for conducting various work. At this stage of
