Background
Samsung & Apple impeccably legally argued similarity & co-existence of mobile technology,
centered on Apple's iPhone & iPad, which probes into company's designs, technology & other
comparable features.
Since Apple Company pays a huge amount for its own legal patents so its experts believe
consumers would pay $100 per phone. Comparing with the ordinary smartphone consumers
normally pay less than $200 or less & getting same enabled features. In violation of infringement
of patents right on average, Apple wants $40 for each violation & total it contributes to 37
million Samsung phones and tablets.
While Samsung’s experts, claims that smartphone features used are unique & might be similar
but it will only equalize in few pennies per patent per device (Cusumano, 2013).
Some distinctive features-:
1) Apple paid a huge patent amount to the MIT pass out Mr. Hauser which suggests that
consumers would be willing to pay $102 more in comparison to smartphone which will have an
automatic word correction or if it’s an universal search feature it will pay $44 more. While
Samsung claims it to be a minor features & selling it for a bigger price.

2) The second feature which got into legal embroilment that claims Samsung infringement of
FaceTime over cellular (sharing of videos & photos), FaceTime for the Mac (for which users pay
for video conferencing) & relatively similarity in chat feature.
3) Notably same design patents of iPhone like black, rectangular, round-cornered front face &
a colorful grid of 16 icons. Apart from design, Apple also claims that Samsung has copied its
technology & infringe on dozens of patents.
4) iPhone 7 Plus has a telephoto lens while Samsung Galaxy S7 has an OIS-enabled camera
with low light shooting & Dual Pixel autofocus.
5) iPhone 6s. Anodized metal which deals with surface scratches better than glass but,
inclined to get more dents & less likely to develop cracks. While Galaxy S7's is more prone to
getting glass cracks on back than the front. Both are Gorilla Glass 4, which means back panel is
thinner (less weight). Also, Galaxy S7's is a great water resistance in comparison to its
counterpart (Schumann, n.d.).
6) iPhone has a cheap storage in comparison to Samsung storage. Galaxy S7 begins with,
32GB vs. 16GB & can include a microSD to increase size to 200GB more while iPhone 6s has a
storage of 128GB (Smyth, 2012).
7) Battery life-: Samsung has invested greatly in its battery technology. The Samsung Galaxy
S7 has a massive comparative advantage with Apple iPhone 6s since its battery capacity is at
3,000mAh & 75% more milliamps. While Apple is known for its great optimizations, in
comparison to Samsung.
8) The Endurance rating is also different in between iPhone & Samsung. The Galaxy S7 can
last an average of 80 hours (greater than three days) while Apple iPhone 6s last for 62 hours.

9) The Samsung Galaxy S7 has a 4.376 sunlight contrast ratio display which means it reflects
less light than that of the iPhone which has a 3.783 sunlight contrast ratio. Hence Samsung with
more 400 nits becomes more legible under direct sunlight & switching to Auto mode serves a
better purpose.
10) Samsung has a super AMOLED panel with a diamond Matrix Pentile while Apple has an
IPS LCD & RGB Matrix.
Analysis of additional features
1) Loudspeaker
Both Samsung & Apple has a below average stereo speaker.
2) Audio Quality
Audio quality & active external amplifier also needs an improvement. The iPhone 6s stereo
quality is far lower than Samsung S7.
3) Camera & Video Camera, Dusk
The S7 video & camera quality has a fairer & brighter image with less disturbance in comparison
to Apple iPhone.
