Introduction
Samsung is a large phone company that has recently tried to present an innovation in the
technology market with creating a device that can alter between being both a phone and a tablet.
In this report, the positive and negative aspect of this current theme has been explored.

Critically debate a current theme
As of 2019, Samsung has currently launched a new innovative product called the Samsung
Galaxy Fold. Through this product, a large device is now able to fold from the middle and
becomes either a large tablet or a thin slick phone (Samsung in., 2019). This phone gives
consumers the ability of having two products at the price of one. According to Drucker (2014),
while foldable phone is a great innovation, built wise it has several drawbacks and is more prone
to breaking than normal phones. Owing to the plastic surface construction of such models, it is
not possible to provide the glass built which regular phones do, because of which longevity is
less. Additionally, devices like this are not safe in the hands of children, as they are bond to get
carried away and break the device, exposing themselves to any harmful components that are
present inside.
In the words of Tidd and Bessant (2014), it is necessary for innovations like the foldable phone
to exist as they give consumers the ability of having enjoying several services. A device like this
assists in not only leisure activities like watching movies. It also helps people professionally to
provide presentations where they can project large graphs, figures and other visuals to a large
audience.

Conclusion
In the above study, multiple viewpoints have been presented in the case of Samsung Galaxy
Fold. In the initial part of this report the negative aspects such as breakage, poor surface structure
and incompatibility with kids have been discussed. Following which, the future scope of the
device and its advantages has been detailed.
