For this research study the most popular and the most selling phone in the Australia has been
taken which is named as the Samsung galaxy S9. It is one of the most popular selling phones of
the most selling phones of Samsung galaxy series. The S9 has been launched on 25th of February
2018 worldwide. This phone consists of the more higher security features which is one of the
best in their segment. This phone has achieved the best reviews of the different users in terms of
hardware, in terms of processor and also in terms of the display. This phone consists of the best
chipset of its segment.
The Hardware specification of Samsung Galaxy S9:
 The display of the Samsung galaxy S9 is much similar as Samsung galaxy S8.
 This phone consists of the 1440 pixels super AMOLED display with the aspect ratio of
the 18:5:9 which is having the display rate of 5.9 inches which is the best in its segment.
 The display of this phone consists of the curved side panels which consists of the edges
which are horizontally placed.
 This phone consists of the Exynos version in some of the countries like USA, Canada,
China, Japan. This phone has launched wit the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor in
the other countries which is also much more effective and efficient processor chipset.
 This phone consists of the 4GB RAM and external memory options like 64, 128 as well
as 256 GB which is also the best in its segment. The Micro SD storage card is supported
up to 400 GB which is more than enough for the users.
 The battery specification of this phone is also far better like this phone consists of the
3000 MAH lithium ion battery which also supports the different charging possibilities
like Air Fuel induction as well as Wireless charging methods.
 The camera specification of the Samsung galaxy S9 is it consists of the 12 mega pixel
camera on the rear side which is single camera with flash and also consists of the 8 Mega
pixel camera with autofocus on its front side which is also the best in its segment.
 This phone also consists of the good sound system which is good enough for the users. it
consists of the stereo speakers which are powered by AKG company having the Dolby

Atmos sound and also consists of the 3.5mm headphone jack for the headphones and
earplugs.
 The fingerprint sensors are also placed just beside the camera which is the easiest
fingerprint placement for the users and also comes with the much more secure face
recognition system which is also the best in its segment.
This phone overall consists of the best processor, best camera and best display of its segment
which leads to the higher and increase in the sales of the phone amongst the other rivalry phones
which are of this segment. Samsung has also launched its predecessor named as Samsung Galaxy
S9+ which consists of only some of the advanced features but almost similar as S9.

Task 2B: Operating System specifications
The Samsung galaxy S9 has been launched with the latest operating system which is Android 8.0
named as Android Oreo. This phone consists of the specific software which is much more
effective and efficient but faced much issues after the launch. There are some of the bugs which
are fixed by the company by launching the different updates for the phone. During the December
of the year 2018 the Samsung has launched the android 9.0 which is named as android pie which
is much more efficient than Oreo.
The issues in Android Oreo:
 Battery Drainage: this issue was faced by the galaxy S9 users because this is the issue
with the android Oreo which was fixed later on in the further updates which are launched
by the company. The battery of the phone drains much faster after the single charge
which was not good for the battery life of the phone
 Sound Issues: The sound related issues are been faced by the Samsung galaxy users due
to the android Oreo which leads to the cut off the volume when the speakers are running
even when the user is pressing the volume increase button.
 Application Problems: The Application problem was also been face by the users of the
Samsung S9 because the apps are not running properly sometimes, they get force stopped
and doesn’t behave properly.
These are some of the major issues which are faced by the Samsung Galaxy S9 because of the
Android 8.0 Oreo which was furtherly fixed in the updates released by the company for the
benefits of the users. the Difference between the android Oreo and its latest version Pie has been
explained below.

Comparison between Android Oreo and Android Pie:
Android Oreo Android Pie
This version of android comes with the less
colorful schemes and consists of the white
plain filling on the screen. The android Oreo
comes with the simple display.
The android Pie consists of the more colorful
color schemes which looks much more
attractive and better than the display of the
android Oreo.
The screen shot in android Oreo has been
taken using the different key pressed by the
user which is much more difficult.
The screenshot in this version of android
screenshot has been taken just by long
pressing the power button of the phone which
is easier.
The android Oreo allows the user the simpler
copy and paste option which is much
lengthier for the users.
The Android Pie allows the different users
just the select and drag/drop option to copy
and paste the content from one place to
another which is easier.
The Usage limit of the application is also not
given in the android Oreo which is one of the
necessary features because over usage can
cause in the application malfunctioning
sometimes.
The android pie consists of the Usage limit
feature which tells the users the application
usage times. The application icon states the
usage by becoming grey.
