LITERATURE REVIEW
Shenkar, Luo and Chi (2014) defied globalisation as the process in which organizations or
businesses generate global influence or start working and operating at global scale. In the similar
context, Wheelen et al. (2017) stated that the globalization is the process of integration and
interaction among government, organization and individuals across the globe. The concept of
globalization has been grown due to the growth in communication and transportation across the
globe. The word globalization is used for describing the increasing interdependence of the
populations, cultures and economies of world, which is brought about by flows of information,
people and investment and cross border trade in products, technology and services (Shenkar, Luo
and Chi, 2014).
Further, Ike (2017) has shown a framework known as Yip’s Globalisation Drivers which given
by George Yip in 1992. According to the framework, there are four drivers the help in knowing
the degree of globalisation in industry.

Yip has been identified four drivers for the industry globalization that help organizations of
understand potential and future growth. The first driver is market driver which major defines the
evolution of the consumer behaviour distribution pattern in market and focuses on the coverage
of consumers’ needs in global market (Ike, 2017). On the contrary, the cost globalization drivers
are more focused towards the opportunities for economics of scope and scale. Competitive
drivers are defined by the strategies and approaches of the competitive originations in the
market. Lastly, government drivers involve factors such as technology standards, common
product, climate regulation and trade policies (Ike, 2017).
According to the Kopnina and Blewitt (2015), globalization has become a force that helps in
shaping contemporary world and is influencing society, environment and business. As per the
study, consumers, corporations and suppliers are connected by the information worldwide also
the capital and material flow as the processes of production has become dispersed progressively
across the globe. In order to understand the major effects of the globalisation on business Forsyth
(2011) has performed a study according to which the globalisation affect the business in both
positive as well negative way. The findings stated that globalization leads to the competition in
the market in terms of quick response, quick production, technological adaption, target market,
price, cost etc. Secondly, one of the key manifestations of the globalisation is utilization of new
and upgraded technologies by global oriented organizations for exploiting new market
opportunities. Thirdly, globalization helps the organizations via effective information or
knowledge transfer because information is the most valuable and expensive production factor in
today’s world of competition.
The study of Crane and Matten (2016) has shown some negative effects of globalisation in
business across the globe. The findings suggested that majorly there are two major negative
effects of globalization job insecurities and price fluctuations. Initially, globalization leads to the
competition in global market which results in fluctuation in process worldwide in different areas.
In addition to this, the increasing competition forced organizations to lower their price for
products and services. Secondly due to the outsourcing of the skilled and unskilled labour from
one nation to another has created a threat of job insecurity.

Furthermore Aggarwal (2011) also investigated some impacts of globalization on businesses and
findings suggest that the major impact of globalization on business include location flexibility,
economies of scale, increased awareness, increase merger and joint venture and increased
competition. The competition in global market is increasing because in the countries are flown
by the more foreign investments and also the deregulation in markets allowed originations to
enter in the different markets. Further due to the globalisation consumers have become more
selective on such essentials as price, service and quality because awareness in the market has
been increased. Further globalization has led to more joint ventures and mergers because it
allows to access bigger market and also globalization is providing location flexibility to the
companies across the globe.

METHODOLOGY
RESEARCH APPROACH
The purpose of this study is to analyse and evaluate the effects of globalisation in Samsung
Company so considering the nature of research quantitative research methodology would be used
in this study (Bell, Bryman and Harley, 2018). The study would comprise of literature review by
which a theoretical background would be prepared which would help in understanding in the
background of the study and different aspects of the research area. Further, the survey would be
incorporated to gain the real time responses to attain the aim and objectives of the study in an
effective and meaningful manner. The key reason for using quantitative method in this study is
that it provides an effective relationship between two variables that help in attaining and
answering the research questions effectively (Bell, Bryman and Harley, 2018). In addition to
this, this method allows research to analyse and measure the information and data for the study
and the findings of the study are presented in a simple and effective manner so readers could
understand that easily (Bell, Bryman and Harley, 2018).
RESEARCH TECHNIQUES
Further, focusing on the key research techniques so the study would include survey method to
answer the research questions and to attain the objectives of the study. The survey method helps
in answering the question effectively as it is useful in demonstrating the characteristics of the
population (Zikmund et al., 2013). The survey would be conducted among the university
students who have knowledge of globalization and are ware the recent trends of the industry.
This technique would mainly include the questionnaire in which approximately ten close ended
(multiple choices) questions would be incorporated (Zikmund et al., 2013). These responses of
the questions would definitely help in assessing the effects of globalization in Samsung
Company which would be supported by the theoretical aspects via literature review.
DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
In this research, data and information would be collected with the help of both primary and
secondary data collection methods. Initially, the research would include literature review as
mentioned above in which research articles, research journals, papers, academic articles and

online information available would be explored and analysed (Saunders, 2011). The information
in secondary research would be collected with the help of online databases such as Google
Scholar, media sites, office government websites, company sites etc. This information would be
initially verified and would be added in the study to provide theoretical foundation to the
research (Saunders, 2011). After collecting the secondary data and gaining basic understanding
of the study and research area, primary data and information would be collected with the help of
survey.
In survey method, initially complete information about the project would be given to the
respondents and after gaining consent from them, the survey would be conducted (Bell, Bryman
and Harley, 2018). The sample population would be decided with the help of non-random
sampling techniques and after gaining the same questionnaires would be distributed to the
respondents of the research. The complete filed questionnaire would be taken and responses of
the respondents would be recorded effectively for the further analysis (Bell, Bryman and Harley,
2018). The responses of the study would be effectively analysed with the help of quantitative
data analysis method and it would be presented with the help of tables, graphs and charts for the
better interpretation of the results.

TIMELINE
A timeline refers to the overall progress chart of the project which consists of the phases which
are completed, phases which are in progress now and the tasks to be finished in future. The best
way to create a timeline for the project like this is to create Gantt chart which was founded Henry
Gantt and consists of a chart that illustrates the project schedule (Krajewski, Ritzman and
Malhotra, 2013). The chart consists of takes which need to be performed on vertical axis and the
time period on horizontal axis (Krajewski, Ritzman and Malhotra, 2013). The Gantt chart for this
research includes 12 activities that would help in completing the project and it is expected that
the whole project would be completed in 14 weeks from the date of start.
