Organisational culture of any organisation is very important and a prime point of
discussion in the light of the modern competitive era. It is the culture that drives and
influences upon, the growth and expansion of an organisation. In the following essay the
organisational culture of the Samsung has been discussed.
The organisational culture of Samsung is appropriate for the modern competitive
market and has is unique in its orientation. The culture is seniority –oriented with a reflection
of the traditional national culture of the country and includes employee motivation and
loyalty (Riet, 2016). The positive aspect of the organisational culture is its continuous stress
on innovation and change and its ability of fast decision making which stands in opposite to
the seniority orientation of the company. However, the management of the company has
addressed to this issue with simplifying the job rankings and modifying the employee
relationship with events and practising informal atmosphere within office. This helped the
junior employees to approach to the seniors and pitch in their ideas. Further, the company
encouraged newer ideas and took into account the ideas and visions of the newer and junior
employees. Moreover, the company included more online meetings and reduced overtimes
and encouraged the employees to have more family times (Snyder, K., Ingelsson, P., &
Bäckström, 2016). This proved being a positive contribution to the culture of the company.
Further, the company structure is a simplified one with only three division of IT & Mobile
Communications, Consumer Electronics and device Solutions and each of these divisions is
managed individually and the whole process is further supervised (Riet, 2016). Moreover, the
product portfolio that is maintained by them also influences the company culture.
Thus, the systematic and organised management and administration of the company
has greatly influenced the company culture.
